What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

That sounds like ours. At least I know they have no qualms about pressing an attack on anyone getting even moderately close to their nest When I get all of our firewood cut for the season without getting stung multiple times I feel like I've gotten away with something.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Hopefully I'm okay. The shop was heated all day and there didn't seem to be any life when I took it down and looked in it. Sealed it in a ziplock before I took it in the house just to be sure. Great advice...they can be feisty little buggers.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

No, Been a while. I took it apart fall of 98 for a "one winter recover job"....what can I say, life happens. I guess that's why I'm more of a muzzleloader guy than a rapid fire guy. Luckily the nest was unoccupied. Pulled it down this morning and filed it with my shooting supplies.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Sewed a little on a shooting pouch project this evening. I was working on an airplane earlier....not really muzzleloader related until I found something useful for shooting while poking around above the headliner.

If they threw in all the gunpowder you can shoot with the pay that could sweeten the deal for some.

    Cheapest pistol kit?

If you're still thinking you'd like a derringer one came up for sale on the firearms sales forum on this site for under $200.00.

    Cheapest pistol kit?

I was in Sportsman's Warehouse (Fairbanks, AK) a couple of hours ago and they had Traditions Kentucky pistol kits in stock there for $220.00.

How to Clean a Percussion Rifle in 5-7 Minutes...

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I need to figure out how to cut my gun cleaning time down a bit. I'm sure my cleaning method is an exercise in overkill and time needed will lessen with experience gained. I always use the shower to clean my muzzleloaders but have yet to shower myself at the...

    Slim Jim Holster

Beautiful! Thanks for posting. I've been enjoying getting back into leather crafting but have a LONG way to go before I can turn out something close to that.

    Rolling papers for combustible cartridges?

Be sure to keep the paper cartridges separate from other items rolled from Zig Zag papers.

Brown Bess: I gots me some questions...

This sounds like great advice. I'm getting antsy to get out and see what I can do with my Bess but I fear that the snow in my shooting area is still up past my butt. Seems like having the ball hit dirt would be more helpful for seeing where shots are going than having it disappear into the snow.

    Goex (again 😀 )

Potentially great news! Hopefully there will be a boatload of that coming to Alaska before we're too far into the spring. I'm planning to burn a lot of it this year.

Can "they" hear me? Do "they" care?

I like my cheap Timex. It's way outlasted the last expensive watch I owned. It has an old fashioned dial which I find much quicker and easier to read than a digital readout. It's very quiet too but at my age I'm more worried about the loud ticking of passing time scaring me than any animal in...

That explains it. Thanks. I'd missed that thread.

    Midway

I've been toying for a while with getting my first percussion revolver. I'm drawn to the 1860 colt types as they look cool and the grip fits my large paws well. I'm confused as Midway appears to have three different listings with three different prices with what appears to be the same revolver...
