I have been out of the reenacting genre for some years and and am curious about the Hawken Classic. Is this event centered around the history of the Hawken brothers or are there any shooting events ( not original rifles) but marksmanship shooting events ? Thanks, Robert

This is one I did many years ago. Have not had any trouble with it as concerns the bit. The eye is not tapered so I put a wedge in the top of the handle to keep it tight. It smokes just fine also.

Is the full stocked Hawken pictured in the attached pictures, for sale?

No, I had a mold made to produce them. They were cast and then surface ground. I polished them after the grinding. I don't remember exactly what the metal makeup was, but they had a moderate amount of carbon in them, and they sharpen nicely. The one with the sawtooth back I did with a 3 cornered...
