When I only had my .45 cva mountain rifle the choice was easy.... now its more complicated!!

CVA .45 mountain rifle kit. Bought it in 1980, I still use it. I bought a 1851 navy colt from Euroarms .44 about the same time. I had too many chain fires with it. Not useable anymore.

After all the decades pyro has been available, surprised that this still debated!! Gun makers have come and gone, but pyro is still on the shelf.

The fancy stocks are great for many folks, but the way I bang my rifles around using them, the fine finish would'nt last long. Plain is fine for me.

Sat by the Minnesota river with my t/c .45 hawken in a ground blind until it got dark and started to rain. Deer are moving, but too far away.

why use a light load? a few more grains wont beak the bank.

I got a couple of maxi ball 240 grain, packets with a T/C .45 Hawken I bought this summer. I plan on trying them this weekend on deer opener. 70 grain of 2f. First time not using rb.
