    making tang fit with heat

    Need to make my GPR kit tang 1/8" longer to fit the tang channel. Has anyone ever heated up and peened a tang to make it a tad longer.This is my 3rd GPR with the same over inletted tang channel.

    The same thing just happened to me, i ordered a 54 flint from midway before xmas and recieved it last week. Opened it up and noticed the tang channel was cut to long, not enought you can fix it, to much cut and thats it, i sent it back to midway for an exchange, i will probabily wait another...

    I bought LMF maple stain to stain my english walnut stock.I tested it out in the channel,and it looks to orangeie to me,can i mix this stain with say a walnut, for a darker color with a hint of red, has anyone tried mixing these stains

    Mine has the same problem with the tang, send it back there is nothing you can do, if you try to fill it it will look like crap, you can"t move the tang back, you will throw off the alinment on your barrel, touch hole, barrel wedges.     I bought mine from midway, where did you get yours, not that it makes any difference, they are all made in the same place, they might be a rushing these guns a tad bit, because they are on backorder everwhere, i waited a month for mine, and cause i sent it back, i think i'll be a waiten another...

    I'am sorry rick, mine is packed up and ready for ups. yours does'nt sound to bad, if the holes dont match up fill them and re drill. Just picture the tang channel 1/4 " to long nothing will align right, the touch hole sat at the rear of the pan

    Finally recieved my GPR kit in a .54 flint, as i was looking it over i noticed the tang channel was cut a 1/4" to long. For me to correct it, i would have to move it back, which would mean my touch hole would be at the back end of the pan, not to mention i will throw off the alignment of the 2...
