    Yet Another Colt ...

Griff, I‘ve given your question, and problem some serious thought. Even though it would be a slight hardship, I’m willing to give you a shade less than half of what you paid for the Navy. I need another Second Generation Colt like I need a hole in the head. But I’m prepared to make room for...

    Shortened 1-66 .45 rifle

Sandpounder, I spoke with my brother regarding the shortened CVA rifle. He shortened his barrel to 24 inches. The balance is great. All the little people in his life trained on it. Nothing fancy to add on either. Very accurate too. Sorry it took so long to get back to you with this...

hickory ramrods, where to buy the best?

Another alternative would be either a Delrin or fiberglass rod that identifies as “hickory”.🤣

    long barrel vs shorter

Larry (Omaha), Excellent idea about digging that 16” hole to drop the butt of the rifle into for loading. And I know from experience, that works great. Having the shooting bench constructed with a step/ bench is brilliant. Don’t get me wrong. The hole is simpler and doesn’t require a lot of...

    My 83rd birthday present.

Well Tom, happy birthday. Just in case your birthday is in July, it’s a little known fact that July is the absolute best month to be born in. June is sort ok as is August. But July is smack dab in the middle of the calendar. All those other months are just filler for the rest of those...

Engraved Pistol Costs Today versus 1960's or 70's.

I had the tops of the back straps on two 1862 Pocket Police revolvers engraved with a simple interlocking monogram. It was done on the part just below where the strap screws into the back of the frame, about the size of a thumbnail. About eight years ago, it was $50.00 each, done by hand.

    Iridescent balls

To avoid that rainbow sheen, try putting on your rose colored glasses, or thone small, square blue granny glasses. That should filter out those various hues. Just make sure you’re sitting down, crossed legged on the floor and surrounded by pillows. If the room starts spinning, and you...

    Iridescent balls

It appears to me that you have a batch of that 1960-70’s hippie lead from Berkeley or San Francisco.:cool:
