Hello ls there any interest in German hunting swords?. These were used to put down game humanly.
I have collected a few... here is a good one. From about 1720 to 1730, engraved blade with cabalistic writings.

Interesting!

I have a German knife set that is likely a direct descendent. A sheath with a heavy, large knife which would easily joint large game. Accompanied by two smaller skinner/caper types. I suspect it was a WWII GI "bring back".

Here is another one from about 1740 or so...
This has a makers mark that is probably of the Wundes family. Most Wundes" king marks the face/head is in profile. On this and a few others it is facing forward. It most likely a blade of German origin. Weyerhaeuser took over the Wundes king head mark in the mid 1700's.

Does anyone know this mark?
