    Shiloh sharps 54 cal

Phil Coffins, I have one exactly like that. It lives in the back of my safe. It was a gift thirty plus years ago from a friend. Never fired from what I can tell.

    How old are ya?

Older than some, younger than others. Mostly young at heart.

    Cva pistol issue

I would probably give Deer Creek a call. Give them the information for your pistol. They possibly would have some spares. Maybe look up Dixie Gun Works too. They have tons of stuff.

Paterson reproduction with case and accessories

There’s just something about those Patersons. When they come up for sale they are usually gone in a heartbeat. The other thing is that the prices they can command are right up there with those Chinese ‘weather’ balloons.

    Food for thought!

Consider carefully slicing it in half. Then hollow out the inside. Seal it if you need. Then glue and maybe pin the two halves together. Finish it the way you want. I made a flask out of walnut many years ago. The wood came from the same piece of walnut I used to build a pistol with. No...

Need a little info - 1861 Colt Navy?

On the 1860 Army, is the barrel two pieces ? It almost looks like a seam or joint at the base of the round portion of the barrel before the flair for the ratchet.

Need a little info - 1861 Colt Navy?

It looks like the front sight on the pistol is on backwards. :dunno:

    Surface drag marks,,Tip's, Tricks,,?

Look at it as honest wear and character. I have an unmentionable that was worked over by the boys in Quantico Virginia. It is beautiful and runs crisp and slick as ice. But after many years it has some drag marks. Others that I have in stainless, and worked on by some very talented folks...

    No muzzleloading pepperbox reproductions?

Hoppe’s made one several years ago. It was actually pleasant to put together and work on. Classic Arms marketed one also. That one in my experience was over hyped by the company. What was supposed to have been a relatively short delivery time, after payment of course, turned into something...

    Wooden knife sheaths?

I have an old CVA knife kit tucked away from the early 1980’s. I think it was called the “Trapper”. I never assembled the knife. It was one of those ‘gifts’ you dare not throw away or sell, if you get my drift. I do believe the kit contained roughed out wooden pieces for a sheath. I...

First Cap and Ball Revolver Recommendations

I would handle each of those revolvers if possible. It’s like trying on boots. That’s where I would start. You’ll find the 1862 Pocket Navy and Police revolvers are smaller than the 1851 Navy. There is a fairly distinctive difference in the grips between the Uberti and Pietta versions. The...

    Chips around butt plate

All of the above…. If you do patch it with wood or a glass, you will know it’s there. If you leave it, you will know it’s there. For me, I look at my shotguns as tools. I don’t abuse them, but I don’t polish out nicks or dings in my hammers or other tools. If I pound nails, I expect...

JP Beck Influenced Raffle Rifle Completed

I think I missed it…. But what is the information regarding the rifle ? Caliber, barrel length, lock, triggers etc… Any more photos ?

    Pawn shop find

If I remember correctly, Classic Arms marketed those pistols as “Snake Eyes”.

    Attaching a Trigger Guard

There’s no corners on that wheel ! Great idea !:thumb:

If you can find it, try printer’s tin type.

    Pawnshop mystery

Looks to be interesting. Hopefully you can get more photos.

Unknown Custom Leather Marker logo Id requested

I don’t know whose logo it is. But it looks like a cursive ‘L’ inside a house. :dunno:
