SOLD 40 Cal. Kibler Flinch Lock up for sale.

Believe me I feel your pain but try to get your priorities in order. In 50yrs one silly little winter of freezing and driving on 4 flat tires won't mean squat when you shoulder that beautiful .40cal flinter.. and the lumps your wife put on your head will mostly have disappered by then.

    Polyester felt...

From quote above: "It was basically a giant capacitor. 😂 You'd be walking along with it -- holding the fiberglass handles and with your pant leg rubbing against fiberglass side. Then accidentally get the aluminum frame close to something that was grounded and ZAP!! Most exciting piece of luggage...

    Lock tuning

I subscribe to a system of risk management that says, and I quote (me).. "EITHER, Don't put all your eggs in one basket.. OR put all your eggs in one basket and.. WATCH THAT BASKET!!

    Lock tuning

That is a good reminfder of why Hard White Arkansas Stones are listed as polishing stones. I've messed things up with Fine India stones and they do not seem that abrasive at first glance. Heaven help you if you find yourself plugging a Dremel in. I was hoping I would be lots smarter than I am...

IIRC the strips soaked in ballistol/water mix benefit from being laid flat on a non porous surface to dry (or they will dry in a non uniform manner with a differing amount of lube end to end). If your strips produce variable results you might try that.

Glad to hear he is doing OK. I was thinking about him just the other day. I miss his posts, still use his system.

    cabelas 58cal perc hawken

I just measured mine (not .58) and it measures 31/32" (0.969ish) If they had sprung for the extra 1/32" dia. the lawyers wouldn't have freaked and they would still be making the .58cal bbls or some barrel maker would list a drop-in.

If you don't like it pass it along to me. I've been trying to find one, or a .58 bbl for one for a very long time.

    Bore Butter?

That has got to be the most expensive lube in the world. Worth it if it works.

    Bore Butter?

What I dislike about Bore Butter is that if the kitchen is cold in the morning it tears the heck out of my toast. Shout-out for RIG for long term rust protection.

    Ramrod diameter and fit ?

Be sure to cross pin the brass end onto the rod. Once you have the brass end mounted, cross drill it for a small finishing nail. Very slightly counter sink the brass and rivet each end.

Butt plates are tough for me!

It shouldn't slip off your shoulder and your cheek weld should be darned near permanent.

Well, a comedy of errors---but I learned a bit about shotgun muzzleloading :)

Excellent initial post and self evaluation. Good follow up up posts by members as well, good advice. Don't forget, if you were trying to teach yourself to juggle chainsaws you probable shouldn't start with two. Don't try to get too fancy too quickly. It is one of the things that makes real life...

    Spilling powder

I always wanted to play skeet golf.. when one guy hits the golf ball the opponent tries to blow it out of the sky. The players take turns hitting and shooting but must play their ball "as is" for the rest of that hole while the shooter continues to degrade its aerodynamic status.

    Spilling powder

Agree with addition of Laphroaig or Ardbeg. Recent price increases make spillage a criminal act.. I think.

    Spilling powder

Ardbeg and Laphroaig are two other distilleries on the same road as Lagavullin in Port Ellen on the island of Islay. My favorite is cask strength Laphroaig (coming in at a bit over 57% ETOH. Laphroaig is the peatiest with Lagavulin next, followed by Ardbeg. These are either loved or hated and...
