Shooting Sharps bullets in a Hawken rifle

The Lee 533-410 modern minie patched with two wraps .0015 paper would probably be the least expensive way to make a sort of pritchett paper patched .54 bullet without buying a custom mold. Seth Cole 55y paper is about .0015 I think. I don't know how well this idea would work. I'd be wary of...

    Mould issue

Sometimes the locating pin can shift and may need to be gently tapped back into place (some years Lee used grooves, some years pins)

who is this famous person and what are the guns?

Bottom left revolver may have a round barrel, maybe Confederate production such as Griswold & Gunnison? The shape of the top rifles trigger guard reminds me of the PS Justice civil war muskets, but I don't know if he used that guard shape on sporting rifles.

    My latest pawnshop treasure.

One of the more recent Wesson replicas, I've thought they are a nice looking gun.

    What gun do you save?

Custom heavy barrel .50 target rifle OR Parker Hale Volunteer, I'd probably die of smoke inhalation while trying to decide :(

    Pedersoli Tryon 50 cal

A gun I bought from an estate had been used as a wall hanger and apparently had dried factory oil and dust in the barrel. Brush and solvent eventually got it cleared up. (funny enough for this thread, it was a Pedersoli Tryon).

    mold handles

an alternative would be a press mounted sizing die https://www.northeasttradeco.com/online-store/SIZING-DIES-Threaded-c22095488

    mold handles

From what I can see of the bullet shape it reminds me of the Rapine Maynard Smith bullet, but I don't think its's one of their molds. Lee 6 cavity handles work on many molds and are cheap enough to modify. I guess clamp the sizing die in a vice and tap the soft bullet through with a wood dowel...

Stoeger I remember, don't know about Viking.

    Flintlock ID

I think Stoeger used to list those for sale.

    mold handles

Not a Lyman mold. What type bullet is it supposed to cast? The push thru sizer reminds me of one that fit a a small press Rapine sold to size minie bullets. The press had a socket and the die was held in by a thumbscrew.

    German Jaeger/Target Rifle!

It's really going to depend on the rifling twist as to whether a round ball or a bullet is the better choice. Also, I really like the style of that rifle.

Issues with Parker hale P53 enfield ignition

I find it hard to believe the beeswax/coconut oil lube is the problem, but I'd suggest just lubing the minie bullets with just plain Crisco shortening and see if it makes a difference. With my 2 band Enfield I usually wipe the bore about every 5 shots, my minie bullets are sized to bore size...
