    Ordered a Kibler Fowler

I wanted to be able to shoot round ball, so I went with the 20, and the maple stock. I look forward to seeing yours finished.

    Ordered a Kibler Fowler

This will be my first foray into the flintlock realm. Doing all of the reading I can to hopefully reduce the learning curve just a little. Looking forward to trying every load I can, and hunting some wildfowl and small game. Dave

    Why a Fowler

The Kibler Kit, went with the maple furniture, I like the way it looks, even if it may not be historically accurate.

    Why a Fowler

Well I pulled the trigger on a 20ga Fowler today. Going to be doing a lot of reading, my very first flintlock.

    A Moment of Weakness

I will shoot this one for sure! Had thoughts of having the barrel sleeved to a squirrel gun caliber, but if it shoots well, I won't.

    Almost ready for November

Shot today from my hunting sticks, two inch three shot group at 50 yards, I feel ready.

    Why a Fowler

Someday if finances allow, I will have a Kibler rifle and fowler, right now I'm working towards the first one!

    A Moment of Weakness

It is percussion and a 45 caliber.

    Why a Fowler

One thing I failed to mention, I have far more opportunities to hunt wildfowl and small game than I do big game. I'm going to ramble a bit here, so reader be warned. I was born in the Eastern portion of the great state of Orygun, Dad was a USAF Officer, and so we moved a bit, Texas, Arkansas...

    Why a Fowler

I do have a 50 caliber percusion rifle, it is what I am using for my deer hunt next month. I am leaning towards the 54 since I love shooting PRB, and I feel if I ever draw an elk tag, the 54 ball would get the job done with a little more margin for error, with the 50 I would likely use a Maxi...

    Why a Fowler

I really want to order a Kibler kit, but I am waffling between the Woodsrunner and the Fowler. Leaning towards the rifle, a 54 caliber, but can see the utility of a 20ga fowler.

    Almost ready for November

Hopefully one with a happy ending. Deer have been sparse last decade or so. Either way time in the woods with rifle in hand is a Happy story.

    A Moment of Weakness

Looking forward to putting this one together. Give me time to assemble the other necessary shooting pieces and parts, ball, and mould.

    A Moment of Weakness

You're correct, despite what the gunstore gent told me, it's a 45 caliber percussion, he was wrong all the way around.

    A Moment of Weakness

Local gunstore is going out of business and giving deep discounts. Should have insisted on him opening it up, but it certainly isn't the flintlock he said it was, but I know have another 50 cal percussion rifle. It's missing the H plate for joining the stocks, but I have that and an extra pin...

    Almost ready for November

Fired off of my sticks, 87 laser ranged yards, .495 Round Ball, .020 patch, wool felt over powder wad, 80gr weighed Swiss FFg. My 1970s TC Hawken with a gently used Green Mountain PRB barrel, lit off by an RWS #11. I have a mule deer tag for November 2-7 here in Southern New Mexico. I will...
