Does one need to apply oil or ballistol INSIDE the lock?

I might take my lock off once every year or two and oil it. I use clp as well. I hunt in sub-zero weather all the time and clp has never let me down.

What size round ball are yall using in your kibler 20 ga Fowler?

I might pick up a .595 mold with my next track order since the mold isn’t much more than a bag of round balls. I’m considering getting a very basic rear sight and dovetailing it in, I’ll have to figure out how much barrel thickness is there to work with. Have any of yall installed one on your...

Use of fine shot in colonial America

I think if you look at colonial sales flyers and records you will see bird shot was widely available. Here’s a post I found with some info….. https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/colonial-shot-sizes.64934/

Use of fine shot in colonial America

The pilgrims referenced fowling guns and “swan” shot for fowling. They even specked out fowling guns for folks coming to the colonies. Now I believe most guns were fired at flocks sitting on the water, this was pre-flintlock at that point. I’m sure they didn’t stop fowling as it was a great...

What size round ball are yall using in your kibler 20 ga Fowler?

I just picked up another kibler fowler kit, this time a walnut 20 ga quick ship. I’m gonna be buying a round ball mould for it, what size are yall using? Have any of yall measured your bore diameter?

Opinions Requested on Next Kibler SMR Caliber

As a waterfowler, I like weight. Lots of advantages over light guns. Mainly the hooked breach would make cleaning a snap. Plus I like the way it looks especially the traditional tangs that had the wide sighting groove incorporated in them. It’s just personal preference though. It would also make...

Woodsrunner Builders - Tools and Supplies?

Nicholson files are hit or miss now a days. I’d go with bahco, I think Kibler sells them on his site as a matter of fact, cheaper than amazon if I recall. Don’t get the cheap Chinese files.

Agreed, I wish he’d make a Fowler with a hooked breach and wedges too. That would be a handy gun. I’m sure it’s easier said than done, with design and programming and all.

That definitely might be a limiting factor. I wonder what calibers share the same rod? I’ll have to ask before I order.

Lock speed kibler SMR vs Woodsrunner

Well hopefully some new SMR quick ships post soon, I’m itching to get started. I almost bought one last week but was taking a family member to the hospital and by the time I was done it was gone. Sucks getting old!

Lock speed kibler SMR vs Woodsrunner

So what causes the larger locks to be slower? Just takes longer for the cock to hit the frizzen and spark as in more distance? I assumed the SMR lock was just more evolved (later gen) with rollers ect and that might increase speed.

One kit with an extra barrel. They sell extras in their parts section but not sure the ramrods will be interchangeable, though.

I was thinking of ordering a kit with a .36 barrel and an extra .45 for deer season. Best of both worlds!

Kibler stocks OK for a lefty?

Lefty’s want Kibler to make a kit for them because they are the best kit out there bar none. I bet he’ll make one eventually, you guys gotta give him some slack he’s had some really impressive growth the last few years and you don’t rush business expansion unless you want to go out of business...
