    Mainly I’m using it for protection during transport to and from the range. I pretty much decided that it is too large and needs one side trimmed down to fit.

    I’m trying to learn too. MY average flint life before it quits sparking is 2-5 shots. Five is usually stretching it before my Lyman Trade Rifle breaks chunks out of the flint. I want to learn to reface the flint so it will cut the frizzen.

    Bore brushing.

    When I get desperate and use a brush and it freezes at the breech in a rough or pitted bore, I place a 1/2” drive deep socket over my brass range rod. I then use the socket as a slide hammer to free my rod and the brush or jag/patch from the rough bore.
