    Corn Meal

Cornmeal worked for my .58 smoothie, but I found better patterns with a charge, lubed wad, shot, and another lubed wad. Cornmeal also helped my prb loads

    One I’ll remember

I get away with a lot hunting. I think it’s mostly picking your spots and times to move, reading the animal’s emotions and demeanor. That bird was locked into the decoy. I had a quick shimmie right as e was getting ready to flog it, which likely was why he stopped. It was too late by that time

I have a particular quest with this gun. Hopefully in a few springs it’ll be complete 😉

Chokes or no Chokes for Turkey Hunting

Much appreciated! I tried capture some late sun light at sunset, but doing so without another person or tripod was difficult. Catching the harvest on my phone was pretty cool, though

Chokes or no Chokes for Turkey Hunting

Another jug choke suggestion here 🙋🏻‍♂️ Here is a load I developed at 25 yards with my Kibler .58 And yes, it’s highly effective on gobblers. This was from a couple days ago.

A ‘smooth-rifle’ is a style. A ‘smoothbore’ is a type of barrel (no rifling).

You cannot stock with farm raised pheasants. What people need to do is reestablish habitat (for turkeys as well)

I’ve taken a newbie out for the last 5 years. Just a lot to consider getting another bird off the landscape and disrupting breading patterns. Tons of things are going wrong with turkey populations, including predators and nest predators, but habitat, imo, is the key.

Leland Davis out of Wells, KS. I think it was around $75, maybe a little less

My computer wouldn’t even open it. It was weird. I actually borrowed the GoPro, so I’ll see if the friend I borrowed from can pull it up on his computer

My iPhone 😂 I try to carry a little tripod with me, but forgot it that evening. Had a couple pieces of bark balancing on a log to keep it propped up. I forgot to format my Go-Pro so I didn’t get that much footage.

Circling back, the #10 load did the trick at 15 yards. I posted some photos on the hunting portion of the forum, but I’ll include them here as well. I had two stray BB’s enter the breast and went straight through. I would guess there would be similar results at 25-30 yds.

I I’ll update the other threads when I get the chance. A career change threw my schedule for a loop and our weekends are pretty well booked through the spring. It worked out, though!
