    Another from my dad's collection

Ah man that is cool!!! Definitely British. They shipped a lot like these to Mexico during the Texas Revolution.

    German silver/nickel brass wood screws

Does anyone have a source for german silver wood screws? Slotted oval head type. Is german silver/nickel brass the same thing as nickel plated brass? The trigger guard is german silver and I'd like the screws to somewhat color match. Thank you!!

    WANTED .610 RB mold

Looking for a used .610 round ball mold. I have several molds to choose from if you are a trader... Thank you!

cast my first bullet ever, critiques?

Hot and fast is where its at. You can get an idea of your mold temp by how long the sprue puddle stays liquid. I like mine to stay jiggly for several seconds after I pour.

From my dad: Smoothbore 'trade musket'

My guess is that it is straight rifled. You would sight it just like a shotgun This way you could: 1. load a tightly patched ball (more velocity) for big game. 2. still effectively shoot shot. (No spiral to distort the pattern)

    Epoxy Can Be Cured

Sounds like fun to me. Just make sure everything lines up.

From my dad: Smoothbore 'trade musket'

Are those riflings I see? Are they straight or spiral cut? Very cool piece!!! Looks like British and Belgian proof stampings on the breech.

    Getting the patent breech clean

Those barrels are secured with 3 screws, correct? Remove the barrel, set the breech end down in a bucket of water, then do the ol pump n scrub. The water being sucked in and pushed out is all that is needed to clean the entirety of the patent breech. Change the water until it remains clear...

    CLOSED 1851 Swiss Feldstutzer

Yes sirs, it was Gunbroker. Not an arsenal built rifle, but rather a civilian piece by Sebastian Diem of Mannheim. Seller claims 2” groups at 100 yards. We shall see.

    New Arkansas Reg: “Alternative weapons”

The new regulations can kiss my rear. And the muzzleloader caliber restrictions are still .40 cal and larger. You cannot convince me, AT ALL, that a .32 S&W Long has more stopping power than say a .36 maxi on top of a hunting load of 3F or 4F. Then there's this.... All a person has to do to...

    1834 Fishtail Fowler

I didn’t bid on the Springfield. Glad it arrived safe for you.

    Rifle plug removal, field removal

That rifle does not have a PLUG....it has an entire chambered/patent breech!! You need a special 15/16" socket that clears the bolster! If you try to remove the hook like a breech plug you will twist it off!

    1834 Fishtail Fowler

I like what you did with it! That hammer looks much better than the one that was on it. I hope they packed that Springfield better than the SxS shotgun I bought from them. It arrived flopping around inside the box and broken at the wrist. Totally unacceptable packing job with next to ZERO void...

Thanks LongWalker. Every year I pay for my license and never go over any limits. These are my regulations.
