July 4 is National Sidewalk Egg Frying Day!

For me, at 100% no reduction, the jpeg prints just under 3", and the pdf a smidgen over 4".

Mineral Oil, Carnuba, and Bees Wax

Rather than experimenting with some diy formula, if it is soft leather why not use saddle soap to clean it, then neatsfoot oil to soften and preserve it. That works very well for me on many leather items.

    Walmart caps

That's just crazy on their part. How did you learn this? Are or were you a Wally World employee? I wonder if individual stores in the chain can restock or get transfers from a neighboring store.

    Walmart caps

Just in at my local Wally World in SW Ohio and under $6 each! Here's the SKU so you can call your store to see if they have any. She brought out 10 or 12 and I bought 4. Strike while the iron is hot, good luck.

whats your favorite part of muzzleloading, what keeps you hooked?

The history of it. Seeing how simply made mechanisms such as flint or caplocks can function so well and yield outstanding accuracy never ceases to amaze me. Even shooting my most basic and simple handgonne takes me back in time. Just imagine the sheer astonishment and fear of the people who were...

    Linstock

While noodling around on-line I came across the site myarmoury.com. A contributor from the UK, Julian Reynolds, talks about the beautiful hand carved replica handgonnes and linstocks that he makes. Here's a sample. Check out his outstanding work.

    WORST DAY AT THE RANGE!

If you're unlucky enough to shoot with him again and he goes off once more, just tell him that while you can explain it to him you can't understand it for him.

Be careful when you order online.

While searching for some #11 caps on Wally World .com the price seemed pretty good, but I don't think these are the percussion caps I'm looking for!

    Shooter's Bench

See if your wife has an old rolling pin. That might work for the rifle rest.

Right hand or left hand shooter? 🤔

The way some of my target look it appears that I shoot them wearing two eye patches. I don't recommend that.

    Correct spelling for Hawk_n?

    It's spelled with an e.

    Long shot-1982 stock carver

@Pee Wee, this might help a little. My wife reminded me that this carved hound came from Silver Dollar City in Tennessee. Onthe bottom are the carver's initials, Might be JAC.

    Here's some mischief

Bill, from the picture I certainly can't see the difference you mention, but I believe that having a small bit of difference would be beneficial. The shooter could rotate the tiller to give rise or drop to the barrel. To get the hits in the black on the bullseye target I posted the other day I...

    Here's some mischief

Yes, that's all there is, again per Jesse at TRS, so you can go as light as you want with powder. Fifty grains of 3F behind that ball doesn't seem to be much, but you better hold onto the tiller with both hands. Don't have one too close to your face, either. Ask me how I know.

    Here's some mischief

Flint, you got that right about needing to be secure. I'm going to be checking my JB bond regularly, now. Jesse at TRS did say that many of his customers successfully used JB so that's why I opted for that versus drilling the ferrule and putting a screw in the reduced diameter tiller tip.

    Here's some mischief

I decided to try the method that the master gonnesmiths used centuries ago. After much research I found the formula and tried it with great success. It's called JB Weld. Worked like a charm. :thumb:

The more I shoot it the more I'm amazed

@BillinOregon, I just drop the .715s down the tube w/o paying any attention to sprue orientation and then I ram a balled-up half of a coffee filter to hold it against the filter ball that's on the powder. Those ten were all that I shot today and I didn't swab between shots. I bet your .735s will...

    June Postal Match Target

I'm getting that smoothie dialed in and I'll gladly take those 20 points. A nice jump forward from last month's 5. Somehow I seem to do better with the left barrel.

The more I shoot it the more I'm amazed

Had a terrific day at the range with my handgonne. The target below was shot offhand, tiller resting on top of my right shoulder. After the uppermost five shots I began to walk the next five down. One thing is certain, nobody can tell me that 50gr of FFFg doesn't work with that .715" mini pumpkin.
