There are people out there who DON’T like Brussel sprouts?

what size ball to use (exactly)

Looks to me like you have 452 barrels on the Uberti which is why they recommend 454 conical, that way they slip into the chambers with no sizing. Pot luck with the balls but I would use 457 to get a decent ring cutoff which will better help the accuracy. Lee moulds use a 1:20 tin:lead mix, pure...

what size ball to use (exactly)

I’d be putting 454 balls down the holes.

No, you can't ship black powder pistols or handguns via the USPS.

Coinneach, I have heard the same thing, yet to test the waters though. I will have to put feelers out and see what others have found.

    Freeman pistol.

Must be a bugger to get those caps on, the nipples look quite recessed into the cylinder and the small loading port would be difficult with large fingers.

Fast follow up shot for a single shot pistol or rifle?

For those that have watched the excellent TV series "SHARPE" there is one episode where he instructs a group of soldiers how to reload their flintlocks in a rapid manner. Poured the powder and dropped the ball down the hole, a rap of the buttplate on the ground and fire. Not sure how accurate or...

    Best Friends

I've seen Wedge tailed eagles out Broken Hill way in New South Wales, Aus. When the season is good and there is lots of prey around they can get huge. We drove up to one in one of those years when we had a great winter out there and the wildlife was abundant, this eagle had come down to the road...

    Cornbread?

Hmmm, definitely an American thing, not so big in Aus that I have found..BUT... we do make it at home. The best is when I don't have to make it, wife makes with jalapeno's for sure. I don't know if the recipe that I have compares to you guys, now have to go home and dig it up. Just as long as it...

    Tungsten Powder

You do realise that you still need to cast a billet to stage, but like casting a 50cal ball and putting it in a 45 cal die. The excess lead is forced out of the vent hole

Slixshot nipples, homemade caps, old Canola oil, and thou.

I can’t quote the source but I was told soaking in Diesel does the same thing. A friend of mine way back used to drop his revolver in diesel and then a couple of days later take it out and wipe the crud off.

How many caps do you use in a year ?

I would easily fire 2000 per year and another 1500 from my wife. Got to love competitive shooters.

    Traumatized by bans and shortages

I have never been the hoarder type or buy all type, but with the way things are over in Aus I wish I did. I tried to be fair and only take what I need, sorry that has now changed. With them talking about 3-5 years before we “ normalise” or have steady supplies arriving on our shores. How do you...

Ruger all the way. Better gun, real steel, solid build. But I may be biased.
