    Pistol for edc?

I'd go with a snubbed .44 1858 Remington. With a proper fitting bullet and cap sealed black powder in a chamber should be on par with a black powder cartridge for storage longevity. My C&B revolvers have proven at least as reliable as .22LR . That said I'll stick with John Moses Browning if...

    Solved the percussion cap issue.

Nice looking job, that cup is beautiful, I've always been turned off by the crude looking cups usually produced.

Mike Beliveau injured in fall, doing OK.

Sorry to hear that, the older we get the further away the ground seems to be. Hope he gets well soon and his troubles go away.

    My Mail Lady.....

My UPS man knows why I get heavy stuff. I was casting one day when he stopped by and asked what i was doing so I gave a quick bullet casting demo. He thought it was a pretty neat process to turn scrap lead pipe to bullets.

    Gunbroker Unscrupulous Sellers

Years ago before the internet Shotgun News was the place to look for guns. I soon learned my idea of "Good Condition" and someone else's idea of good condition were quite different. Some err on the side of understating, others overstate condition. Way back when I was a FFL I always tried to make...

The Eras Gone Johnston and Dow wins

FWIW most of the Civil War pistol bullets I've dug and seen have been .44 Johnston and Dow. It's a handsome bullet to boot after being nicely aged in the ground for 150 years.

Any SxS trap shooters out there?

I've only shot a little trap, Years ago I was a pretty good Skeet shooter, best run was 72 straight before missing. FWIW my advice is to practice with something that shoots smokeless, produces consistent patterns and is less time consuming to reload. Some time spent with instruction and a modern...

How many caps do you use in a year ?

A couple hundred I guess. Saw lots and lots of Remington caps in the LGS yesterday for $14.95 o_O

Has anybody tumble lubed bullets for black powder revolvers or rifles?

Years ago I tumble Moly coated 5.56 bullets for matches, don't how well it would work on balls. Tumbling conicals would beat them up but balls should be OK I should think.

    1861 Navy paper cartridges

As in "semi bushed" I'm guessing mean you left a bottle necked chamber? If so that a lot of powder behind a .36 :thumb:

    Armadillo

You forgot to mention 'possum. This little ditty came from my wife, I never heard it till she started singing one day. "Possum sitting on a Hickory limb, hi-a-way hi-away home" "We will make short work of him, hi-a-way hi-away home" "Put him in a pan and cook him sweet, then he's...
