I like for mine to protrude just enough to index. The other school has the board thick enough to where the barrel is indexed via cut outs in the board. RM

I think a flint double rifle would be neat. As I said, it's certainly doable, just annoying to me. One thing about the SXS there is not necessarily any cast to work around either on production guns (usually). Definitely doable.
