    Buffalo Skull

Someone mentioned that they had to wait for the buff's to clear the road before they could continue their journey. Reminded me of one of my Motorcycle trips. We were riding through "Needles" and came upon a herd. Me on a big "Razorback Red" ST1300 had to stop for just a bit...while waiting...

I really like that belt, did you make that? if not was wondering where I could get one. Mine is a plain ole canvas one similar to those carried in the Spanish American dust up. RM

4 Famed Hunters and the Names of Their Guns

I can't tell you how many times I have seen that picture and just now realized you are absolutely correct! That does seem unusual for the early 1820's. I guess there were some English sporting rifles with back actions maybe be it was one of those reworked? RM

    Question

^ that’s exactly how I came up with my load for the .50 TVM. Mr. Selb told me what he found in regards to what works best in his rifles. The only deviation from his advice is that I am using .018 pillow ticking instead of .02.

    Question

I have found for me the sweet spot is 70grs 3F with the .50 and 90grs 2F for the .54. Edit- .015 patch for .50 TVM .018 patch for .54 Selb RM

Loading Blocks for patched round balls

There are basically two schools of thought, indexing by the bottom of the ball or insetting the wood/material. I usually go with the bottom of the ball since not as much wood is required and is just a bit more compact.

    Beards and Mustaches

I do enjoy it still. Now I teach, so I am usually just pointing and directing and QA/QC data. Used to be the guy behind the gun. Now days I’m on the rod, hence the avatar “Rod Man” got 2 years and some change and I’m done. Looking forward to just doing what I wanna do when I wanna do it. 😆
