    Ramrod fit and retention

They should be snug without being overly tight, sealed in oil, kerosine so they don't swell easily and stay away from completely straight rods. A slight bend or warp keeps them in place.

    Rawhide wrap

    Sure looks that way.

    Rawhide wrap

I have seen these spacers in mid 18th century English take down fowlers so they were used.

    Rawhide wrap

I've used natural sausage casings to repair actual breaks in the wrist, worked very well. WASH-rinse them well to remove any salt, wrap tightly and tie off. After completely dry, lacquer or true oil over to prevent and moisture effecting this. Painting a stock may be a better idea or I've...

    Death of muzzleloading

I can see your point in part but yet if a shoot is a "traditional muzzleloader shoot" then it needs to stay that way or where do you draw the line, next it's lever actions then AR's. We need rules in our hobby or our hobby will die.

We can all be a little (very little) cautious when handling lead, then again we can also wear helmets while driving around.

    PC/HC Hunting?

I have a orange hat band, but I usually hunt away from trails where I might run into others.

    PC/HC Hunting?

Hunting does not necessarily mean big game season. You can always take a walk with your long gun and hunt small game.

    PC/HC Hunting?

You need one article of blaze orange during small game season and 50% or more during deer season.. Hunting doesn't apply only to deer season.

Where do you draw the line?

That's great and all but I'm sure someone by now has to have started a archery forum somewhere on the web. We start talking archery then it's .great uncle Doofis's .410 shotgun then old cars. Before you know it we don't have a traditional Muzzleloaders forum but just a place where crap is babbled.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Tried to add onto my range, we opened up some brush so I can add a 100 yard backstop. We have one at 35yards and 75yards and can shoot offhand in the shade at 35,25 and 15 yards. Snow is melting and were turning the yard to mud tramping back and forth through it so instead of dragging power...

Didn't here until lately, then city slickers started building homes and turning into the city their trying to leave.

A 10-12 year old boy walking down a township or county road with a long gun today would cause a stir I'm sure.
