I make a safe file for dovetails with just one side smooth, is there an advantage to having 2 smooth sides? Thanks Phil

Had the same type problems with Plum Brown. I think the problem is trying to get the barrel temp even, It take a lot of heat from a torch to get it there. I switched to Mark Lee brown, they both use heat and give a smooth brown, but Mark Lee temp is much lower and easier to obtain. It takes...

Never said what my groups were, I can usually expect a 2" group a 50 yds from a rest. I usually shoot from 40 yds with about the same result, if I'm getting 1.5" or less I'm a happy camper.

Really busy today. Sighting in my Tenn rifle, Had to bend the barrel to get POI to move right it was shooting maybe 3-4 inches to the left and I was running out of sight movement. As you can see it's pretty much on ( lower left target, 40 yds. I stopped there as I had about about a 20 mph plus...

We're all the lucky ones if we made it to 70, 80 or more, there are many who are not so lucky. :)

I would like to know what the average group you can shoot on a day is. Not the once in a lifetime one hole or the clover leaf you can't repeat that day as for the life of ya. I'm asking this because I think many, like myself, shot alone and have nothing to gauge our groups against other than...

If you do get one, I doubt you'll change it after shooting a bit. Let's wait and see.:)

Picked up this new Patch Knife. Think I'm going to like it. :)

The more I shoot it the better it seems to work me. Have very few misfires, don't know exactly what I do to make it work better. I guess it's just all those little adjustments along the way. FLINTLOCKS FOREVER!
