    Bored out pedersoli?

I had a Pedersoli “Hatfield/ Frontier/Blue Ridge” with a 7/8 barrel in .50. I contacted Bobby Hoyt and asked about boring and rifling to .54. He replied he would not do it.

    Kibler side effect?

Returning to the subject of side effect: 1. Those who want and are willing to pay will always find a competent builder to build exactly what they want right down to the specific historical rifle or musket. 2. Jim Kibler cannot be all things to all people’s wants. Not possible! 3. His niche is a...

SOLD - Pending funds Custom flintlock rifle for sale PRICE DROP $800 plus shipping

Probably not with a touch hole that size. Looks bigger than those on military muskets. Make sure no one is standing to your right when fired. Probably self-priming though.

    Kibler side effect?

Pedersoli makes a decent percussion rifle. There is a place for most of their flintlocks though. That would be the store’s rack. Leave them there.

    Kibler side effect?

Jim, don’t let ‘em bring you down. As my Grandfather said more than once: “It amazes me that there are so many more horse’s a__es than horses in this world!”

    Traditions Patented Breech Help

I posted this a while back but here it is again for newer folks. Be very very careful using a bronze brush in a muzzleloader, especially if it has a chambered/patent breech. Carefully note the differences in the two brush examples. Do not even be tempted to use the swaged type as it can easily...

    Kibler side effect?

Waksupi and TDM are correct. I’ve run the gamut of flintlocks from being a sixteen year old kid to now at 69 years with three fine flintlocks. Many, many have passed through my hands over the years. I have not built from a plank but have assembled many kits, some good, some bad and all needed...

Anyone notice less cap jams on the Dance Brothers revolver?

Any thoughts on caps jams on the Dance Brothers revolver compared to standard Colt’s with the recoil shield? I might hazard a guess that capping a Dance might be easier too. I’ve never handled one, just curious to see what owners think.

    Kibler side effect?

I agree that “Kibler Longrifles is the best thing to hit the traditional muzzleloading industry in decades.” As far as the future, none of us know when or if things happen that alters the present. As I keep saying to my wife if you see something or enjoy something like a great cookie, pizza or...

    Traditions Patented Breech Help

Hello Notchy Bob, Zoom in on the first caliper photo, .220 as measured with a drill bit as came from the factory. I increased it to .325, the tapered in to encourage the powder to funnel into the chamber. I did not feel comfortable going larger. I think this is true for all Pedersoli variations...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Well, it sounds like a more than fair way to spend the afternoon. Like you, I frequently call it a sammich , in deference to the Pogo comics from long ago. RIP Walt Kelly.

    Traditions Patented Breech Help

I did the same thing to a Pedersoli Hatfield copy. Had to shorten the touch hole liner as well. Helped a lot! Problem was still a poorly performing lock. I have a healthy dislike for the chambered (patent) breech design.

Track of the Wolf have a knowledgeable staff and are very helpful with questions about anything black powder. Even though they might cost a bit more, it’s in our best interest to support a valuable resource such as TOW. Great choice on your part. Snoot

    Can’t find a rifle!

I am in full agreement. The Kibler round-faced lock is perfection. It’s that simple. I keep on my soapbox about : Quality lock Traditional flat breech plug Correctly centered touch hole being the most important things for flintlock reliability. Kibler hits these three out of the park. Anything...
