I seem to recall William Buchele suggesting a tapered shim or spacer. This was when swamped barrels were harder to get, and people were building lightweight longrifles with 13/16" straight barrels. I believe Mr. Buchele felt that widening the breech in this way would improve the geometry of the rifle stock in the breech and wrist areas. @Wyogoat (post #17) mentioned this, also. So, I have heard of this sort of thing, but I don't think I've actually seen one before.

That looks like a nice rifle, at a good price.

Could you post new photos with name card and date?
I recently purchased from a relic post that was nearly 2 years old here on MLF and what I received was not in the same condition as what was posted a year before and not with items presented in the photos and part of the original offer.

I could and I will at some point but nothing has changed, it's exactly the same

Moving that butt plate forward and changing the lop is a possibility. But it needs to be done by someone with experience. Besides you can't buy the parts for $800
