FOR SALE Richland Arms, Colt Army

It appears to have safety pins at the cylinder rear. I’ve owned three ASM revolvers and none have had safety pins. Based only on my experience, This is most likely Pietta or Uberti.

Homeowner uses muzzleloader on home intruder

I really hope this doesn’t come back to bite the homeowner . It sounds like these idiots were trying to break in and the homeowner opened the door and shot one of them. Probably should have waited until they actually broke the door in. I wish the homeowner the best.

Bought a pieta 1858 Remington. Looking for some load data and answers.

One thing you need to check on to protect yourself. In my state a convicted felon cannot dwell in the same place where there is a firearm. I know the fed does not consider a black powder revolver a firearm. That is perfectly clear. What is not clear if the Texas judicial system considers it a...

    uberti revolver help

Yes, Bad Karma is absolutely correct. When the hammer contacts the rear of the cylinder to engage the pin, it is not moving the small additional distance that it would to hit the nipple. Correcting the upside down concave portion of the bolt (a very small bit) and or polishing the bolt can...

Colonial Trade Gun from a modern Belgian flintlock

Very nice, good work. I would be proud. I’m certain no one alive in the 18th century would have any issue with your gun.

Dumb cap and ball mistake - advice needed

Reminds me of and old British limerick: “There once was a man from Devises Whose balls were of different sizes. One was so small, it was no ball at all, The other won several prizes.”

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

Better check on if she increased the value of your life insurance.

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

If they are not concerned about short arbors why in the world would they care about the box? It does seem that better packaging would reduce damage caused by the shipping gorillas though.

    How did you get hooked?

Yes, my fourth grade reader “Singing Wheels”, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, Disney’s “The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh”, the Civil War centennial, the Revolutionary War bi- centennial and a deep interest of history sealed my fate. My older brother started me down this path with my first...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Spent a few pleasant days working on an 1851 steel framed fantasy .44 made by ASM in 1998 that I recently acquired from a member here. It was a kit gun, in need of internal polishing however the fit, timing and lock up are fantastic. It needed milling marks dealt with, fixing a boogered front...
