I used to use Morton's Tender Quick when we lived out in the boonies, and it made excellent bacon and canadian bacon. I coulda sworn that it was Pot Nitrate, but when I took a look at the package downstairs, it says it contains Sodium Nitrate. It's really good stuff for curing your own meat.

You are so right! I live in St Louis, and none of the Wallys I've tried in a 50-mile distance have had any BP stuff at all! Even at 50 miles out, in deer hunting land and season, they haven't had any at all. @PastorB, where do you live? Urban area, country, or out in the boonies?
