    Keeping it together.

Lots of good ideas from the gang. One item I really think is essential (especially for us old farts that can't remember) a list. I have a master list right in my main shooting box. Before every outting I check the list. Some days I only need part of the list, but there are just too many items...

Patching over your powder charge …. then patching your ball

Don't waste your time. Get the right ball and single patch combo and you will be good to go. Too thin or weak of patch will usually be a factor for poor performance. Larry

My SIL gets a patch knife for Christmas

My SIL is adamant about cutting at the muzzle, so this is what he will have under the tree. Used an old shaving razor for the blade. Cocobolo wood is one of my favorites for something like this handle. The luster is the natural oil in the wood. All I did was buff to bring out the luster...

Unknown Jukar model - How is this barrel held in?

You don't show the nose cap. If it is what I think, there are two screws in the nose cap Larry

    Bend the sear bar up?

Did you anneal it first? Just currious. Not asking what happened. Larry

    Bend the sear bar up?

A possibility on the half cock, but read Phil at 10:15 am For simplicity, a lock that can be removed and replaced without extra motions is a plus to me. Thanks Larry

    Bend the sear bar up?

What is a dangling trigger? The bar needs to be as close to the sear as possible and maintain a free moving sear. Larry

    Range box plans?

Do you want a RB that fits me or John Doe? I go to lots of shoots and all boxes seem to be what that guy needs. Are you shooting flint, percussion, trap, pistol etc. Do you want drawers, compartments or just a box. If you really want one that fits your needs put something down on paper with...

    Bend the sear bar up?

For the sake of discussion and not argumentative. A sear below the plate causes issues when replacing and removing the lock. What difference does it make if the sear is farther away from the trigger contact? A trigger bar has to fit the situation. (add or shorten hight of the bar) More...
