I had never seen an underhammer gun I didn't like, until I saw these. To my eyes that is one ugly grip.
I would use the barrel and lock in a different piece of wood!

You might just be surprised how well that grip fits the hand. A somewhat common grip shape on underhammers.

I wonder what kind of mainspring it has. It needs a trigger guard and a different grip. Just getting rid of that pointed bottom and square it off would help.

These were made to give the everyman an affordable and reliable pistol. Everything about them is easy to manufacture. No elaborate shapes to carve etc.

That, and they fit the hand like a glove.

My old friend in Washington used to make all sorts of Under hammers entire Ide clean them up & engraved them & sell them in the East. One reached NZ .Only ones I have are the Danish & Norwegian govt rifles' Kammer Laders ' Hershall Logan put out a good book on Underhammers ...Ugly as sin! Surely beauty is in the eye of the beholder (If I rather agree in this case

You may think it's ugly, but I would bet your favorite beer your tune would change if ya shot one. My two are awesome.
