    The Kibler Journey

wiscoaster, I don't own any Kibler rifles, as I make my own. I do however pick them out mentally when I see one at a shoot. Thanks for posting the video. :thumb: The Kibler family is one of a kind. Larry

    Kibler Breach Plug

Piece of chocolate cake. The main issue is the right clamping vice, and correct wrench. Doing a MacGyver style will get you in trouble every time. Larry

    Larger Flash Hole

Never heard that before. Respectively, why would such a insignificant larger TH make the gun less accurate? I would agree that velocity and foot pounds of energy will lower using an equal volume of BP. Not saying you are wrong just don't see the relevance. Larry

    Repair or replace

Grain is an issue. That is why I suggested a 3/8" epoxied threaded rod plus glue. Larry

    Repair or replace

Id fix it with a epoxied 3/8" all thread both directions of the crack. There will be a shown crack when done, but that will give the gun character. The crack exposure could be somewhat better in appearance if you wanted to tackle messing with the stain & finish beyond minimum stain dab where...

    Offhand Accuracy

Ha, I live on a golf course, but no thanks! Not knocking something that others like, but I do not care for golf. Went two times in my life and still have not figured out why I went the second time. Larry

    Offhand Accuracy

Arm and leg health are a big plus. Exercise all four extremities? Dry fire exercise: Place a small target on the wall with good light and aim at that. Get your shooting routine down to a reflex. We all have a good timing and a bad timing to get a shot off. Practice fluid shooting...

    Fire starting

TF is very good! I have used it in my firepistons. From what I have read, years ago primative tribes would also use similar material to carry fire to another camp. In case you don't know this stuff glows similar to a cigarette or a fireworks punk. Larry

    Vent Pick Storage

Three place I have used for storing a TH pick: 1. Under the bottom of an overhang on a cheek piece. 2. Laying in the bottom of a small belt holster containing shooting issue comonents. 3. Hanging on a pouch strap. (Keep way from face) Personally, I do not like a TH pick sharp, but prefer a...

Preparing a percussion rifle for hunting

I like lots of oil, but carry a few ounces of denatured alcohol. When ready to load a cleaned, oiled and stored percussion, I plug the nipple with a cleaning patch under the hammer against the nipple. Pour teaspoon of DA down the muzzle and let set a minute or two. Tip the gun & pour the DA...
