    Excellent advice and after i pulled the ball and patch i turned the barrel down and no powder ran out so im pretty sure i had too much oil residue and going to clean it all up tonight and will post a follow up tomorrow or the next day. Thanks for allllllll the expert advice.

    Not at my house atm. When i get home i will do more checking. Just so everyone knows after i cleaned it i took the inspection screw out under the nipple and put my borelight in hole and could see light in the barrel. I think im gonna find oil residue under the nipple when i check it tonight...

    Sounds like a good plan. After i clean tonight im gonna perform what you advised. TBH an oily barrel was what i first thought of when it didnt ignite.

    I noticed the flash hole in the nipple to be about the size of the wire in a bread tie, sure seemed awful small. Gonna clean everything again tonight and drill that hole out a size or 2 or just order another one . Since i made post ive went thru a ton of old post on here about ignition troubles...

    New blackpowder muzzleloader rifle owner and member in the same week. Acquired a nice Tryon rifle and hope to learn from Group and also contribute as I go forward into BP shooting.
