Definitely smoke curling out of the touch hole after a shot. I had forgotten that Dutch said TWO patches. I will try using a smaller jag, no way the rig I am using slides down the bore. I have an extra vent liner, and will drill out to 5/64ths. This is very good info, guys! Thanks!

I prime below the level of the pan, and take care that no powder is covering the touch hole.

I swab well with MooseMilk at the range, get the outside clean also. Then clean thoroughly when I get home. Seems to work well.

I am on the side of value for the money. If you factor in the time need to find all these componets, and the cost of tools and supplies that come with the kit, it seems an excellent value for someone who wants to try their hand at such a project. IMHO. hurray for Jim Kibler!

Best bang for the Buck are the Renegades. Blue Ridge also a good choice! I would buy any of those three.

A cheap way to learn to shoot is with an air rifle or air pistol. A tin of pellets is not expensive. Typically you get 500 pellets in a tin. Cheapest are the .177 pellets and guns. You can easily practice indoors with an air pistol that has iron sights. Penetration is not a problem unless you...
