Would diluting the Duco with Acetone make a difference? I make flying model airplanes, and Duco is often diluted up to 50%. Soaks into the balsa wood better. That might cut out a step in the process, as the acetone would already be in there.

I shot my TC Hawken yesterday for the first time since using a #52 drill to open up the touch hole liner as per Dutch Schoultz’s suggestions. It seemed faster to me, and for the first time did not have flash in the pan imcidents until my flint needed napping. It was easy to notice the difference.

Wilson Shoals Range is not far from Gainesville, very, very nice range. Run by GA DNR, free if you have a hunting or fishing license.

I shot with them last weekend and had a great time. Nice range, and good people. I had an excellent day there.

I got a couple of canvas gun socks in the mail to hopefully keep car transport rash to a minimum. they looked very plain, so I decided to dress up the flap on the end a little. Got out my trusty pencil, sepia ink, and my whittled twig drawing pen and set to work. perhaps it will make it harder...

Black Sharpie had no power over that sun angle. I don’t have a Bic to flick, so I made do. It worked well.

Masking tape worked well, front sight became a dark post!!

So I am at the range, sighting in my TC Hawken. The Sun is turning the front sight into a super nova for my eyes. most of you all probably already know this, but it was a new idea to me. I put a masking tape sun shade over the front sight-problem solved!
