How do you pull back the cock on your flintlock?

Ek gads, lads! Are we not proper gentlemen? It is the duty of the gun bearer to make ready the rifle prior to presenting it to you.

Kibler has announced a Hawken Kit in the works.

I don't want to appear overly eager to get my paws on a genuine Kibler Hawken, but.......

Something that always bugged me in the Horse Operas…

Generally I agree, but I would think a Colt Walker would hold up just fine to the occasional pistol whipping? 🤕😁

Lyman Great Plains .54 cal percussion, missing a set-trigger adjustment screw.

If you can't determine the diameter and pitch any other way you might try removing the trigger assembly, take it to an Ace hardware (they stock gun screws) and try different screws until you find the one that fits.

    Range box

That's a great box! This is a good example of why I prefer old handmade goods. They were built prior to "planned obsolescence", meant to last. I doubt plastic tackle boxes will last a century, much less two centuries. Tools, kitchen ware, furniture, etc. I find and use the old stuff. Buy once...

    Bought a Walker Today

    M. De Land, I also retained the original latch spring.

    Bought a Walker Today

Crow Chocker, I used the original lever that came installed on the Uberti Walker.

    Bought a Walker Today

When I first shot my Walker I quickly came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to put up with the dropping lever issue. "I won't tolerate rudeness in a gun." I looked around at other's solutions, wangs, rubber bands, etc. The "bondage" look just didn't appeal to me, so I solved the problem in...

    Flintlocks at Local Shop

IMHO, one excellent gun will bring more satisfaction than a room full of mediocre guns. My only rifle for nearly thirty years was a Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle. The purchase price stung at the time but long ago stopped stinging. It still serves me well, and never once have I had buyer's...

    Plain Jane Woodsrunner bummer

Kibler has proven to be second to none in product support. Just yet another reason to do business with the Kibler folks.

    Revolver holsters

Among civilians the California or SlimJim, and also the military flap holster with or without the flap. The SlimJim was quite popular because it could be readily constructed by the user from the shaft of a worn out boot. The one pictured incorporates features from both civilian and military. The...

    Why Patch -Boxes &

All of my rifles are sans patchbox. My preference is towards a sleek, plain, unadorned iron mounted rifle. My issue with patchboxes is that they cover up a portion of the largest expanse of wood on the rifle. For me the beauty of a rifle is in it's architecture, not it's adornment. However, I do...

    Daniel Boone - All Episodes

Oh my, that takes me back to my childhood when I would look forward to each new episode. If historical inaccuracies annoy you the Daniel Boone series will drive you up a wall, but if you can ignore that issue it really is a fun series. Oh, and did I mention Patricia Blair. :ghostly:

The Items of Faith. The Dogma of Muzzleloading.com

My mother was born and raised in Florida as was her mother. They made true Key Lime pies. Made with real key limes, and yes with Eagle brand. Not like the imposter pies one finds in grocery stores. Neither of them, God rest their souls, ever set foot in Idaho. I miss all of their cooking...

You are all wrong. My mother's Key Lime Pie is the best. All others pale in comparison. I pity all who have never had a taste, but then I think, at least you were all spared the addiction. 😁
