How much weight can be removed?

Get rid of it. Your due for a nice old English side by side. Goes well with a great dog. Pedersoli shotguns serve a purpose but you can do much better with an original. I have a Greener 20 ga SxS that checks in just over 5 lbs. I should go weight some of the other doubles, not sure what...

    .75 RIFLE???

My large bore shoots a .73 cal ball at 580 grains. I only use 86 grains of 2F swiss. Thumps them quite well. If I was hunting cape buffalos or brown bears I might up the powder. Fleener

    45 Caliber Target Rifle

Love that rifle, however on the next one make it with a butt that is made for shooting prone and heavy loads. Fleener

    black powder wood splitting wedge

I had a friend brought one to my annual rendezvous. It was neat, glad we did it once, not sure I would want to routinely use it. Certainly can see where it can be very dangerous. Fleener

    Woods walk Friendship 2022

The woods walk at Friendship has had a major make over. The walking trail has been graveled to make it safer to walk on and we should not have to shut it down due to wet conditions. New stairs have been built and should be easier to navigate. Also a new shed for registration with a porch...

    Friendship IN 2022

Might be able to ship it to the NMLRA and have it waiting for you at the match. You then could package it and ship it home yourself, post office in Friendship. You can fly with it, just check it as luggage, following TSA guidlines. You can buy powder from the NMLRA and caps from vendors...

Allen Box Lock or English Rigby Build

I have built two rifles with Pete's box lock action. One in .45 like you are interested in and the other .54 cal with a fast twist barrel for shooting conical. I like the English Sporting Rifles' as well. Fleener

    Dog tracking and training collar

The bad thing is that one of the dealers for the Garmin has a statement on their website that the collars dont work in CN. The frequency apparently is one that you cant use for recreation. The info says that based on the GPS knowing you are in CN, it wont communicate with the collar...

Good luck with tracking down the other stuff. If you are serious about that, simply put a search on Guns International and Gunbrocker for "egg". They will send you an email when any are listed. Fleener

    Canada PAL

In another thread someone mentioned challenging the PAL's course by taking the test. I have been checking into that and I cant see where you can challenge the class and just take the test. Anyone have any actual knowledge of being able to do that, and if so point me in the right direction...

The right lock plate shows a hole? Perhaps a screw from the lock not all the way in? The hammers to me look like a 1830's shotgun. Might not be that old, but I bet I am not off by more then 10 years. Fleener

    Dog tracking and training collar

I would agree with you on female vs male. I was wanting a puppy and found a breeder that I liked and had one pup not spoken for out of 3 litters and it ended up being a male. So far he is eager to learn and has been fairly easy to train. As I type this he brings me the TV remote from the...

    Paper-Patching, In a Muzzleloader?

Farmer Are you in the USA? Where? End of March is the Creedmoor 150 match in Oakridge TN that Rick Weber host. Great match and a good time. I drove 28 hours round trip last year just to attend and have fun as my shoulder issues did not allow me to shoot. We will be shooting out to...

    Dog tracking and training collar

Deerstalkert I had an American Britney several years ago and she was a great dog. I did not realize that there were two different Britney breeds unit Sparkitoff posted some pictures of his Epagneul Breton (French Britney). After digging into the French Britney's I decided that I wanted one...

I own several originals. Everything I buy is to be used. I enjoy getting them shooting and sighted in. I might not use each one very much but for me that is part of the journey. If the bores are in good shape, barrels ring true and the wood not all cracked up I would shoot it. Fleener

    Dog tracking and training collar

It is not uncommon to hunt in thick grasses over 4 foot in height. I assume your dog is a flushing dog? Mine is a pointer. The Epagneul Breton is known for working close. I take him in the woods and fields for walks and he never goes more then 30 yards from me. The nice thing about the...

    Dog tracking and training collar

Got to ask, and I mean no disrespect. Why a long lead for this next season? How old is your dog? This is my only second real bird dog so not a lot experience but have hunted for years with buddy's and their dogs. I have trained quite a few dogs over the years in obedience and working...
