    Percussion locks

Took 40 years, some questionable maintenance and a poorly-fitting cap before a T/C percussion lock gave me any trouble! Dang thing!

    Range and Cleaning Rod suggestions...

It's funny that you would ask about a break-down cleaning rod. I bought this brass one from a big box Sportsman's store a few years ago, and it works fine, except the pieces start to loosen while cleaning - while the jag follows the grooves of the rifle. I got concerned about it coming coming...

    Quality 1/16 drill bits

Spyder. Not cheap but you can buy them one at a time from Lowes. USA made - I've never had problems with them. Use a little oil. Good luck!

    OOPSIii ! what's your best/worst one.

It was about 40 years ago. A college pal and I were hunting pronghorns in Idaho and came across a small band about 150 yards away - a shot I would never consider today, but we were kids and, well you know... We both shot - and missed. Too high? Too low? Who knows - it was a couple decades...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

After reading so many posts about ramrods that came apart, I spent the last couple evenings inspecting, drilling and pinning rifle and shotgun ramrods. Now - like all of us I'm sure to meet some muzzleloading gremlins, but they shouldn't involve an unpinned ramrod!

    Pedersoli SxS Help Please

No. I use bismuth shot so I don't have any lead shot. I do have some lead split shot but I don't have any idea how pure it is.

    Pedersoli SxS Help Please

I recently purchased this Pedersoli 12 SXS, and noticed this gap at the muzzle. What do you recommend? Solder? I have a torch and do some soldering, but mostly electrical stuff. I am concerned about destroying the joint if I try to heat the muzzle enough to melt the solder. Drip some in...

magnum load for a 20 gauge shotgun

Maximum? 1 1/8 oz shot. 90-100 grains fff. I would think 7/8 to 1 oz shot and 70-80 grains fff would be a good load - depending on pattern.

    Cabela's chaps my hide.

I've still got a couple 50 gallon barrels of "Y2K water" in my back yard.... and besides - what's so bad about Vienna Sausages? :)
