    32 accuracy at 50yds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Both of my .32 caliber guns (Pedersoli Pennsylvania caplock, and Blivins North Carolina flint lock will shoot 1.5" @ 50 yards with no wind, At 25 yards they will both keep dime sized groups off the bench. I once took a squirrel with the flint lock at a measured 63 yards. It was sitting...

    Flat spots on tumbled balls

To remove the flat spots you might try rolling the balls between to pieces of plate steel or aluminum.

    Recommendations for a borescope

I attached a section of a .22 rifle cleaning rod to my flexible scope and it does a better job of getting things clearer.

    Recommendations for a borescope

    Unplugging patent breech? Loaded rifle…

I have seen it twice in my 45 years of shooting BP guns. Once it happened to me with an old T/C New Englander. I unloaded the gun at the end of deer season using the c02 discharger, ran a patch with Barricade down the bore and put the gun in the safe. The following fall, I went to load the...

    Unplugging patent breech? Loaded rifle…

One caution when using the c02 discharger. Sometimes, the c02 blasts a hole thru the powder and exits the projectile, but leaves a ring of compressed powder around the inside of the barrel like a donut. With the next loading, you may get a hangfire, or will have a much larger powder charge...

    Skinner sights on a muzzleloader

I have put skinner sights on several of my side lock muzzleloaders due to failing eyesight. On the Renegades, I mounted the "Low Pro" sight in the set screw hole in the breech plug that was for mounting a scope. It only has adjustments for elevation but has worked well for me. As stated, the...

    Getting the patent breech clean

Once you are done with the water pumping, use an air compressor or co2 cartridge to blow any excess moisture out of the patent breech area from the touch hole.

    Track of the Wolf

When I order flints from TOW I always request "flat" flints. They are hand picked then. With the "humpy" flints that i bought somewhere, (can't remember where} I put in my vise and grind them down with a diamond wheel with a Dremel tool.

    Re-bore Limits?

Your best bet to contact him is to call first thing in the morning before he starts up the machines in his shop.

    Bedford County rifle finished.

Like stated in an earlier post. My Bedford is hard to shoot from the bench, but off hand it really shines.

Nipple placement on direct nipple to barrel guns(mule ears and such)

Both of my Mule ear guns have the nipple located just in front of the end of the breech plug.

    Patch question

I believe an over powder patch or wad would help, but if possible, go to a thicker patch or switch to 2f powder.

    SQUIRREL HUNTING RIG

Ed: I have been working with my Traditions .32 percussion pistol. It is very accurate off the bench with 15 grains of 3f. Off the bench I can keep 1" groups @ 25 yards. I think if I use a tree rest when hunting I may be able to bag some early squirrels when the leaves are still on and most...

    Seneca Run???

I have participated in the primitive biathlons held here in New England which are very much like a Seneca run only with snowshoes (providing there is snow on the ground).

    Weight sorting cast lead balls.

For me, I have a +/-1.0 grain tolerance for balls .45 caliber and greater. For calibers smaller than .45 I go to +/- 1/2 grain tolerance. I set my electronic scale for the theoretical weight of the caliber ball to determine tolerance levels.

    Patch Box?

I store some cleaning patches and a small hand made turn screw to fit the lock screws in my Woodsrunner patch box.

    .54 for Target?

I have used my .54 Woodsrunner on several of our clubs woods walks with good success. The targets range from 20-94 yards. Most of the targets are steel gongs or steel animal cut-outs. Some of the shooters using small calibers are not able to knock some of the targets over for score due to the...
