    Old Knife Opinions

I found this knife while metal detecting an old still standing home. The home is from the early 1800s and the old barn is enclosed in a newer sheath, if you will. Anyway I decided to run my detector over the floor of the old part of the barn and found this knife about 8” down. It was rusty...

    Leather Canteen

I have always been intrigued by the ones I would see so I figured I’d make me one to haul around. It turned out very nice and is water tight…….so far! I treated the inside with beeswax and then a coat of brewers pitch. It holds exactly 2 cups so not a real big one but should be plenty on a...

    Nipple wrench for Crocket rifle

I made mine out of 01 tool steel with aluminum handle. If you make one, harden and temper the workin part or the ears will break. I keep it in my bag when I hunt with my Crockett

    Bag and knife

Yea, you could see the layout of the front of the house with the flowers. They lined the little walkway from the front door. I find most of my old homesites by hunting for Easter flowers during turkey season. Lots of stuff hidden in the ground that pertains to our hobby here and since most of...

    Bag and knife

Finally got around to makin a new bag to go with my squirrel rifle. Thanks for looking! I used a poured pewter button that I made along with an old buckle and ring that I found at an old forgotton homesite while metal detecting years ago. Nothing visible to give the homesite away except for...

    Canvas bag

Great job on that bag! I like the looks of that old canvas! I made a pillow ticking bag to tote squirrels in. I waxed it with bees wax and it is going strong for a couple seasons now. Your bag is "passin down" worthy!!

I Don't Know How To Explain My Pouch Stitching Style.....So.....Pictures

Your post inspired me to get off my rump and make a new bag for my smoothbore as Ive been wanting one for it. I used 77 for the lining in mine just to be able to post here and say it's good to go. It worked perfect with no bleed through. I sprayed the leather and the ticking and let it tack a...

    New Bag and Horn

Needed a new set for my smoothbore so I decided to make a horn and bag. The bag finished at around 10” wide by 10” give or take. Thanks for looking!!

I Don't Know How To Explain My Pouch Stitching Style.....So.....Pictures

I use 3M Super 77 when I need a spray adhesive. It is some strong stuff. I use it to hold carpet down on aluminum boat seats and it holds up good. Im not sure about it bleeding through your pillow ticking or whatever fabric that you may use though. I wouldn't be afraid to use it but I would...
