    Navy Arms Percussion caps

I have a musket and it originally had a nipple that used musket caps. Musket caps are not available in my area and as i have a good stock of 11s I replaced the nipple with one that uses 11s - I have had no problems but will switch back to musket caps when they are available and at somewhat...

    Parts and instruction.

Don't let the nay sayers discourage you. Parts are available and you will get a lot of satisfaction from finishing it. I have one I built as a teenager over 50 years ago and it is still going.

For anyone considering an Indian manufactured Flintlock

I have an original P59 Enfield made by Enfield. Barrel was toast and not able to be used for firing. I bought an Indian made barrel from Loyalist and it was pretty much a drop in. Fit the barrel channel perfectly, had to bend the tang and drill it. It has a rifle rear sight instead of a post...

    Kibler Brown Bess?

Often seen are folks kicking the current reproduction Besses & Charlys to the curb - even the lofty Pedersolis and heavens forbid anyone goes to the Indian suppliers ( That would bring at least a month of comments on the forum) IF Mr. Kibler decided to do such a kit - I have no doubt it would...

Who made this Jordan 1742 Long Land, and where could I find a barrel?

Try Loyalist Arms - they provided me a new barrel for my original Enfield manufactured P1859 musket at a very reasonable cost. I had tried Mr. Hoyt but he felt the original barrel was too far gone. The Loyalist barrel was nearly a perfect drop in. I had to bend the tang (easy) and drill the hole...

    Priming powder for flintlock

In my case I have a C&R FFL. The state boys or the Feds can come anytime they want to check my books. I have to be completely legal.

    Priming powder for flintlock

I appreciate the help/idea. The difficulty is that I also reload for my unmentionables. That powder and primers count to the 5lb limit for storage. I have been able to occasionally pick up a pound of holy black at a show which I keep expressly for my rock locks. My cap locks are relegated to...

    Priming powder for flintlock

There are states like the peoples repulik of Maryland that so severely restrict ALL powder so that anything over 5lbs icluding the weight of caps and primers can get you in deep trouble. SO it is not as simple as whether you get fedex delivery or not. Consider yourself fortunate if you can order...

    “Judge” H.E. Resley Rifles.

Congradulations on your find! Have you read anything about the Judge? His arms are renowned for their accuracy and special matches are held in Texas where only his guns can be used. Mine is a bit of an oddball of his as it is 45 caliber and is on the smaller side. It has a match set trigger not...

    Alpha gal strikes again!

My step mother was a captured along with her family when Guam fell to the Japanese. She only survived as she was a late bloomer. The other teenaged girls did not. Her father was beaten to death as well.

    For all you "Indian" Haters?

If you did not want to rehash the debate - why not just say that you are determined to buy or want only an American made musket - nothing wrong with that. Don't make a comment about safety and hide behind the "NOT meant to be a discussion on whether Indian made muskets are safe or not and then...

    Poor man’s guns

The ball was short started - user error and if they were frankly careless enough to do that then it likely was not the first time that happened. They may have even used smokeless for all we know. Could have happened to any barrel of any material. User abuse can destroy anything. Images of the...

    Poor man’s guns

Coming from another born in the district and long gone from there - DC is part of the US. It was made from land taken from Maryland and Virginia with the intention that no state would "own" the capitol. I wish sometimes it wasn't but it is. I stand with Snooterpup

    Colt 1851 Navy—120 yards?

I agree - I have shot a 38 s&w (not 38 special) and hit steel turkeys at 100 yds but the round did not have enough power to knock them over - turned them to the side - where as 45 LC would slam them down.
