Does anybody offer a replacement stock for a GPR. I would like a better piece of wood and I would like to change the lines of the stock slightly. I hate the fish belly.

I have a 54 Cal Lyman GPR .

The barrel is straight and I can't remember if it is 13/16" or 7/8" but it does fight tightly into the channel inletted into the stock. It is inletted for a small Siler lock.

My 54 was a factory produced gun. I have really enjoyed shooting it. I have given some thought to getting a Lyman 54 flint kit. I think a kit built gun could be built to look much more like a Hawkin and yours is very well done.

I bought one of these to try on my Lyman GPR. I should have ask this forum if there was any reason not to put one on. Also do they keep the top of the barrel , lock, and stock clean. Any thoughts?

Dryball means you seat the ball in the barrel but you forgot to put any powder in . This means you have to extract the ball somehow.

Just so you guys know I finally dry balled my GPR LAST week. Pulled the ball with a Track ball pulling fitting on my range rod. Wasn't bad.
