VERY NICE -- is that white oak?
Yup, quarter sawn. A buddy of mine is a cabinet maker. Helped me out with the materials. I can't wait to get back on it. I got stalled by a few other things. I'm hoping to have it done by spring. I just ordered some brass acoutrements for it. Patch tins, oil and cap containers etc.

Thought i posted this before but guess i was wrong. Here's my near 40 year old box. Was built by guy in Sacramento for members of the Fort Sutter ML club. IIRC was like $20 or less. Has served me well all this time. Simple study design.

The design of this box allows for storage of a hermetically sealed .30 cal steel ammo box for primer and powder. Having 2 handles helps for one or two persons carrying from truck to bench. Fold down front accommodates various clamp on accessories like a rifle/pistol holders. Spotting scope clamps to side when open.
