WANTED Looking for a "3 bander"

If you join a unit they should let you know what to carry for their events. If you haven’t done this I suggest that you do before committing to a given musket. Do you want to just pop off blanks or do you want a “shooter”? Reproduction or original? Condition? If a reproduction do you want it...

1855 Sidehammer Root original & reproduction

I'm not normally a braggart (God knows I don't have much to brag about) so let's just call it sharing. OK, so I admit it - I just want to share these two guns. I don't know why I'm so enamored of the pocket-size revolvers, but I've always loved small gadgets and these sort of fit that. The first...

    Burnside Carbine advice needed

Thanks! I think I saw them at Dixie GW as well, but dang! They are pricey. I understand that the Rapine 556360 bullet is correct and I would like to locate a mold. But if anyone knows of a bullet mold that’s still in production that will work pllease let me know!

    Burnside Carbine advice needed

Greetings All. I recently acquired a 5th model Burnside Carbine for which I need to find a bullet mold (not round ball). I would like something that is historically correct if possible. I would appreciate any advice that y’all might be able to provide. And if anyone has the correct mold and...

    Pair of .54 Rifles

I just traded an Investarms .50 sold through Cabelas for a reproduction Mississippi rifle. I don’t hunt but the Investarms was the most accurate of my eight or ten muzzleloaders. I still can’t shoot a Minié ball as accurately as a PRB with that .50.

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

When I bought my first revolver a few years ago Uberti had the better reputation for fit, finish, and function (smoother action). Now I don’t believe that’s necessarily true. However, until Pietta follows Uberti’s lead and hides their advertising and warnings under the barrel or otherwise out of...

Just picked up, Model 1849 Colt

1860 is the same year as my 1855 Root. I’d like to get an 1849 to keep it company. You did well!

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

More from the for-what-it's-worth department... I've attached a photo of my two Uberti's side by side. The loading cutout/port on the top one used to look like that on the bottom one. I couldn't load conicals with it, so I enlarged it as I explained above. I understand that the beveled cutout...

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

From the for-what-it's-worth department: I just overlaid images from the web of a 3rd model original 1851, a 4th model original 1851, and an Uberti reproduction 1851, their model no. 340000. I don't know where the small or large trigger guards fall in the pantheon of 1851 models and variants...

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

If you have your heart set on the model that Hickok carried at the end of his life I think DGW’s RH019 is as close as you’ll get from Uberti. Don’t get the London model - you want the brass trigger guard and grip frame. Notice that the loading cutout in the right side of the frame is wrong. My...

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

Is this the one you want? Only $616,875 in 2022.

    Which Uberti Colt 1851 Navy?

@wiscoaster, I’m no expert but I think that only the square-back trigger guard (2nd model) and the round trigger guard (3rd/4th models which are very similar - I think) are offered by Uberti. I love my 1851 Uberti with a five-inch barrel. (Let’s just call it a 4th model. Five inch barrels are...

    Name this painting?

Silly me - I thought you wanted us to give it a name. I was going to go with “Gnome With His Favorite Beer.” 😁

    EIG 31 Caliber Revolver

I have tried using modern reproduction brass molds. They are definitely for show. Results are generally terrible with out-of-round balls/bullets. Original Colt style molds in brass or iron that I’ve used were manufactured to actually produce usable ammo. But! They rapidly grow too hot to handle...

    Non-convertible BP Revolver

Search Gunbroker. There is one offered that only fits the “MINI COMPANION NAA 22LR-CB.” $269. I wonder what’s the point when you can buy one of their mini .22 cartridge revolvers for about $15 more.

    Brass bullet mold from Italy

Thanks for the reply. I've found the best Minié ball molds for me to be either the Lyman 575213-OS or a couple of Rapine molds that I use, depending on the gun I'm shooting. My Enfields (three Parker Hales and one Armi Sport) all like the Lyman mold, sized to .575. My Miroku 1861 and 1863...
