    Navy arms hawken hunter

I have two or three of their Hurricane Hunter .50 rifles. I really want a .58 Hunter to round out the collection but haven't found the right one yet.

2024 cap update, bad and the bad

I don't think he's accurate on that one. I've bought them several times at a Wal-Mart within the Charlotte city limits because they don't fly off the shelf there like they do in the rural areas.

    Tingle rifles?

    I have s/n 1892. @Kansas Jake has the 600s gun.

    Tingle rifles?

Hey, sorry, not sure how I missed this until I was reminded about this thread in another. I don't have any more pictures handy, but you're looking at the one pic of the right side correctly. There's no cheek pad or scallop on the right side of the butt stock, it's smooth and symmetrical to the...

WITHDRAWN Bob Tingle LH .50 cal Target rifle

Yep, that was me! I recognize the couch cushion from my camper! Yeah, I paid $250 out the door, but granted that was a small backwoods gun shop way up in the mountains and it looked to have been on the shelf for a while. Mine needed some cleaning up and the finish is a bit thin, but the bore...

I'm just on the other side of Charlotte from you.

    Trail-cam pictures.

Yep, they're a menace around here. Between them and the stray cats I haven't seen a wild quail in 10 years. It used to be you couldn't bushhog a field without flushing 2 or 3 coveys.

    I.S.O Thompson Center 7048

Why, specifically, a 7048? I think I may have one in a box of random stuff, but I won't be home to check until the end of the month. I recall having one that looked somewhat like that. If you don't find one by the 30th send me a reminder by PM. If I can find it you can have it.

I thought these were one buck until I caught them fighting.

    Trail-cam pictures.

My neighbor caught this one on his game camera a while back. I've seen some big bucks in my time, but this one is just nuts.

    Ingredients required

Thanks, I'll pick up a few test pieces and see if I can do anything with them. I think I know the light grey stuff you're talking about.

    Ingredients required

What does it look like? I'm right across the line in NC on the Toe River (they call it the Nolichucky once it crosses into TN). It's full of rocks that look like they'd work but I have no idea which ones would be the good ones. They range from light grey flint lookalikes to glassy agates.

Repair of an original Japanese Tanegashima matchlock

You're lucky to get that out. I had to soak mine in Ed's Red for about 4 months before it would budge.

    Non-convertible BP Revolver

There's no such thing as "can't be converted." The closest you'll get is choosing one that noone offers a drop-in conversion cylinder for. It might not be worthwhile and it might not be a good idea, but a half-skilled machinist could make anything fire a conventional round given the will and the...

    Question on value.

Sure, why not? I've got shoeboxes full of those things.

    Tingle rifles?

Hmmm... You're right. Most of the others I found pictures of are right handed. The weird thing is I'm a right handed shooter and it doesn't feel off at all. Most LH muzzleloaders I can't even shoulder but the way the cheek weld sits further back on this one I hardly even noticed. Somehow it...

    Tingle rifles?

Well... Y'all are a terrible influence on me. Went back today. The lock works just fine when operated properly. Bore needs a good dust and fuzz cleaning, but rifling looks great. Picked it up for 250 out the door, with a free gun sock thrown in because it's raining.

    Tingle rifles?

Does anyone know anything about Tingle rifles? From the few posts I've seen here it seems like they're pretty well made and accurate? What about replacement parts? I found one in the back corner of a local gun shop. I was going to ignore it because it seemed like the lock didn't work, but I...
