    Taking Time Alone

I just got back from 5 days on my land opening a few new trails in North Central New Mexico @ 7,400'. Still cold, low 20's at night, and had snow as well, so needed the heavier leathers. Have a few friends that don't understand how I can enjoy being by myself in those conditions. As most of you...

    Tomahawk/knife throwing target

With a lot more time at home, I built my first hawk target stand. used cheap 3" diameter pine fence posts. The current target is a slice of pine the about 28" diameter and 5" thick. once it warms a bit here I'll put some linseed oil on it. It extremely sturdy and breaks down easy using some...

    camp boxs

I needed some simple boxes just to store "stuff", like tent stakes, rope, etc... So, instead of using tupperware and then hiding it I made some quick and dirty boxes out of a few old wood pallets I broke up,. These aren't as much for show, but have a period look and makes a great extra seat if...

    Pipe Tamper Sheath

I try to go as real as possible on most things. I just redid on my 25 year old griz necklace. I used real senew and also artificial senew. Artificial is just sometimes just easier. When I make a scalp lock, I've used real hair often. As in the picture below. Starting to redesign my pipe...

    Pipe Tamper Sheath

So… probably don’t really need a sheath for a tamper, but winter can be long, so small projects help keep my sanity. Had a few scraps of rawhide and lacing. Hung a few dew claws and barn owl feathers on either side, then hung a single crow’s claw in the center. put a loop on the back to tie to...

    Griz claw restore

Hi George, Since I wear these everyday, I wanted them to lay flat, So I just made a rawhide cap for over the knuckle and used some artificial sinew to wrap. I've changed the style on this set a few times. Wichoun

    Griz claw restore

I hope this isn’t too far off topic, but I’ve worn a 2 claw grizzly necklace for over 25 years and finally have to completely redo. Over the last few years I’ve noticed the claws are getting more dried out and cracks. I was wondering if anyone knows of something I can put on to help stop or...

Looking for BP shooters in Northern IL or Southern WI

I've been looking online and want to find a few people or a good group to join to shoot with flintlock or PC long rifles. I'm in northern Illinois. I've been studying Native cultures, mostly Lakota, for over 20 years and just getting in to BP. Can use some guidance and/or best practice help...

    Finished a Lexington inspired horn

Hi Johnhalf, I've curious as to the map on the Horn. Was that specific to a point in Lexington? I've been studing native cultures for 25 years and newer to longrifle and moving that direction. Always was curious as to the Map and its meaning? Wichoun

    Cabin life ...

Truly enjoy looking at the different cabins. I hope this encourages others to share. My wife and I are looking for a larger piece of land now and then build something in about 5 years. Great ideas. I live on only an acre and can't shoot on it, outside my longbow.
