What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I take it the airplane hasn't flown in some while. Did the "something useful" have occupants?

What do you think of this knife

I think it was a prop for either Grimm or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I think I would maybe be interested if the price was right.

    .54 Cal Minnies

I shoot sabots in my T/C Renegades and Hawkens all the time, usually with Hornady XTP pistol bullets. It's a silly rule in my opinion, but the SysOp can set the rules he wants as it is his website and not mine. It's a small price to pay for having all this expertise available. I thought I...

    Goex powder

I would not be overly concerned about using Goex Cartridge in a ML, but, and this is a big but: you said you "acquired" it, not that you bought it from a reputable supplier. If you have a half can you got out of the trunk of somebody's '56 Buick Roadmaster, it might be anything at all. If it's...

    .54 Cal Minnies

I was going to suggest not going over 70 grains myself, but you would probably be better off asking the folks who supplied them. They'll have gotten better feedback than you will and probably tested loads themselves. Also, they got a horse in the race in that they want you to buy more of 'em...

SOLD Thompson Center Renegade 54 Caliber—$350+shipping

That sounds like a good price for a complete drop-in barrel with sights. PM me and let me know how you want payment. I can do PayPal or send you a personal check and wait for it to clear. Doesn't matter to me if it takes a few weeks to get here.

Would you consider selling the smoothbore barrel by itself?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Added one of these to my possibles bag. It has room for two 3" x 5" Rite-In-The-Rain notebooks, or one notebook and a Minox camera, several pens/pencils and probably other stuff I haven't thought of yet. I'm just about ready to start exploring other worlds now.... ;)

    Possibles Bag construction (strap attachment)

Find an Oneida (or other native of your preference) woman, marry her, shoot a deer/elk, hand her a knife and tell her what you would like. Hopefully, she will be old enough to know what to do and she'll give you a much better bag than you could ever make. Treat her right and you'll never want...

    What Frontier Rifle is This?!

English: That is a good price for that rifle...

    Flintlock smith needed

Biggest problem is that you can't really be sure whoever welded it knows what he is doing. I can forge weld, but anything modern is not something I do.... not even stick welding. Just never really had the need and never learned how. As I am not long for this world, I don't see any need to try...

    Flintlock smith needed

I'd be very nervous about a muzzleloader with a weld near the breach... or anywhere else for that matter. Back in the day, barrels were typically welded together. They don't do that much anymore except for hand-made guns generally made as part of a blacksmith/gunsmith exhibition. @sturmkatze...

Needs some advice on possibles bag

Not sure what you mean by "affordable", but if you go to most second hand stores, they have a section devoted to women's purses. They are often of good quality and can be had for five bucks. You might have to work to get the smell of perfume out of them, but for the price, they are pretty hard...

    Muzzleloader Confiscated at Mass. Airport

in 1975... less than fifty years ago, I traveled to Germany on an airplane with a Camillus Barlow knife in my pocket. Nobody had any problem with it. In 1973, (fifty years ago) I'm pretty sure that any muzzle-loader would have been allowed in checked baggage so long as it fit into the bag and...

A Pair of Pistols from the French Alps

Nah. Realistically, I got more guns than I need and getting close to more guns than I want. Then again the equation for enough guns is g + 1 = e where "g" is the present number of guns and "e" is enough guns. Therefore, enough guns is not achievable.

New to me rifle with leaking nipple?

No reason for any gun part that holds pressure to be brazed.

    Goex Products

The sign says "up to $15.00/hour". Doesn't mean they start out there. It's a scam like everything else these days.
