    Powder box

So what I'm gathering is most keep it outside of the living quarters. In a dry area. I don't have a shed and my garage is attached. I was trying to think of a safer containment method. I guess my metal cabinet is about as safe as anything.

    Powder box

I had read about keeping it in a container that didn't have a strong lock because it could become a bomb. I keep it in a metal cabinet right now in my basement. I live in Colorado so moisture isn't a big issue. I was looking for a safer way to store it. In case of fire.

    Fort Larimie

Visited Fort Larimie this weekend really neat place. Then visited the oregan trail ruts and registry rock. Nice weekend trip with the family and friends. I was bummed they didn't have enough people to do the cannon demo but still good walk through the history.

    Bullet casting weights

Thanks for all the input. New to the casting thing I just hadn't thought about it till I was reading Dutch Schultz webpage. It didn't go into a lot of detail there. I guess I need to buy his book.

    Bullet casting weights

That gives me a better idea. Mine have been +/- 4 grains but 90% are about 1.5 grains. I don't think my lead is a good mix mine are 3.5 grains lighter than mold value.

    Traditions Kit gun at Cabela's

I did one of these kits it was fun to do perfect for a beginner. Mine turned out good and shoots well. I would suggest doing it for low cost starter. Impresses city people when you tell them you made it.
