I put a bit of engraving on a CVA flask.

Standard spike is 6”. Useful for any number of forge projects.

This was a fun project. I forged this spike hawk from a rail road spike. Throw with blade front and it sticks with the blade reverse and the spike sticks. Handle was a piece of round stock oak whittled down. I made a stamp with my Rocking KJ brand to mark my forge work.

I wish National ML rules would be updated to allow peep sights in competition. Would extend the competitive shooting carriers of many older shooters. Peeps in one version or another have been in use for over 150 years. As traditional as v sights. If Dan Boone had em on his rifle would not be an...

No wording at all anywhere on the flask.

I like it. The flask was not the focus for why I bought the lot. There is an Original Winchester .44 WCF mold is was after ( perhaps unmentionable in this company) but that mold turned out to be as minty as can be. The flask is a happy addition. There also was an antique set of binoculars...

That’s what I was thinking also. The flask is in such nice shape suspect might have came from a cased set. We see this one reproduced so much that a real one is questioned. Adding to my little assortment of powder flasks

Just came in with some vintage goodies. When I bought the lot I was expecting a reproduction flask. I’m not 100% certain but this may be a real one. Has steel screws and is totally unmarked. A few small dings on the body. Opinions?

I had found the set at a gunshow saw the quality of the work and bought them. Later with a bit of research learned who made them and the history. The grind and workmanship of the knife was much better than a usual throwing knife

Thanks. The circle punching at the muzzle is purely decorative and was thinking maybe that could be a clue to maker too.

Thanks for the great description. I’m not wild about the way she functions but for my occasional paper punching at the range I will choose to live with it. I’m capable of great things but occasionally my projects can go south as they say.
