Looking for a ruger old army slim jim holster

The company that made the one in the pic probably does, El Paso Saddlery. The Old Army is one of few I don't have for holster making.

    Taylors

Nope. There myths surrounding this subject but there is absolutely no difference between the guns you get from Taylor's versus those from Cimarron, Dixie Gun Works, Stoeger, etc.. Any difference observed can be attributed either to the era in which it was made or variations between individual guns.

Trigger weight on Black Powder Revolvers?

Wild thread. Back to the OP. I prefer them around 2-3lbs. They can be less but you really have to remember what's in your hands if the trigger is a pound. They can be higher as long as it is crisp without too much positive engagement. I reckon anyone can look at them as "toys" if they wish but...

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

I understand the metallurgy issue. I noticed this with my first pair of Pietta 1860's, when the bolt started smearing the bolt notch leedes. It's one of the things that I like about the factory conversions, that they are made with the same alloys and heat treatment (presumably) as the other...

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

I could be wrong but I have my doubts that USFA used 2nd generation Colt's. There's really no reason to. They were already in bed with Uberti and a Uberti completed by USFA would be a better sixgun than the 2nd and 3rd generation Colt's. I'll say it again, if you want a premium Colt type...

    Uberti 1862 holster

A crossdraw is just a right handed holster with a butt forward cant. Nothing in common with a left handed holster, which is a mirror image of the right. I've done several for the Colt pocket models, including a 4.5" for John Taffin. I think this one's a 6.5".

Do not buy an 1862 Police from Midway

I always bear in mind two things. People are FAR more likely to be vocal about something they're disappointed with than something they're satisfied with, by a wide margin. Second, there is no better place to voice your displeasure about it than the internet. So I take every complaint with a...

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

The problem is that what people 'think' they get with a Colt and what they actually get are often two very different things. It's only been in the last 10-15yrs, with pressure from USFA, that Colt has got their act together with their single action revolvers.

Do not buy an 1862 Police from Midway

NO RETAILERS accept returns on guns. If you're taking a faulty gun back to your dealer, they're just returning it to the manufacturer, for you. Online retailers can't do that. I get that folks get upset when they think they've been done wrong but this is getting ridiculous. I've been dealing...

I'd love to know what reseller takes returns on guns.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

No matter what went down, there had to be at least TWO people bidding it up that high. Oh to be a fly on the wall when that bidding battle was going on.

Do not buy an 1862 Police from Midway

Hmmm. Two of the nicest Uberti's I own came from Midway in the last several months.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

Absolutely no idea. It has nice wood on it but not $3000 worth.

    Different Ubertis?

No offense but these claims are questionable. Even if true, they're certainly the exception and not the rule. Not 'just' because I ordered two Uberti's from Midway in the last six months and they are among the nicest I own.

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

That's a lot of personal bias talking. I can pretty much buy whatever I want. I own zero 1st generation Colt SAA's but several high end replicas. Why? Because they're simply better guns and I'm paying for quality, not a collector-induced premium. No way would I pay $4000 for a blackpowder relic...

Colt ships arms to the Confederates.

The SC militia fired on Fort Sumter because it was on CSA sovereign soil and they refused to vacate it. The war began when Lincoln invaded.

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

Speaking for myself, I almost didn't even buy the Standard (center) because the .45Colt has become sort of a milquetoast, overly popular cartridge and I can't ignore its caveats like most its fans seem to do. The USFA Pre-war (left) is a .44Spl, while the 3rd generation Colt (right) is a .38-40...

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

I'm the opposite, I 'd rather spend $2000-$3000 for a very well made modern gun than an antique that I'm afraid to shoot. Which is why I own all sorts of USFA's and a Standard, rather than antique Colt's. That said, we can't get Standard to offer more than just the .45Colt, so I don't think I'd...

    Finest quality percussion revolvers?

I'd be in line but I seriously doubt there's much of a market for them. Most people complain about the quality of what we already have and wonder why they're not still $200.
