    2 for the 11ga

    Took the 11ga out for a late morning/mid day hunt.Leaves are mostly off making getting close harder.Saw a super nice buck and scrapes popped up all over since yesterday.Did connect with 2 squirrels.Used 1 1/4oz #4's,80gr of FFg,with same card combo as others. Pictures 573 by t410er, on Flickr

    Rooster with a Cherokee

    Took the 32 cal TC Cherokee out today.Yesterday the squirrels were sitting nice but at 30-40yds.Started hunting the farm and noticed the lower corn field was picked.Still hunted the woods edge up to it.Heard a cackle up ahead.Missed a 50yd shot as he flew to a large brush pile.Still hunted...

    Pouring powder in side by side

    I use a piece of copper tubing.Cut about a 2 1/2-3" piece of 1/2 or 3/8 tubing.Smash bottom 1/2" on one end in a vise.Measure out a charge on pour in tubing.Eyeball it and mark outside of tubing to height of charge.Run tubing cutter around at the mark.This will get you close.To finish off I...

    40-50 gr 45 cal rb loads for deer?

    56 cal TC w/rb's

    Tried .010 red pillow lubed with Bear oil but was that tight it needed to be hammered to start.Don't know of .005 patch material to try yet. Might try lubed cotton ball under ball as a cushion or get some fiber wads.

    Decided to buy one last summer at a flea mkt.Looked unfired as new.Took it to the range with decent results for a SB. Used FFg from 55grs-80grs. Used OP card,.550 bare ball,and single OS card. Started at 25yds to figure out tightest groups and get close to POA. Both 55grs and 80grs gave about 2...

    Rifle/fowler

    Rifle/Fowler with full length SB oct.,what looks like cast 41 1/2" barrel.Has rifle sights instead of bead.Lock has scene of hunter and running fowl.Might have been bored to SB years back.Bore mics at .605.No stamps.

    Top pistol has a center hammer.SB barrel that mics at .455.Stamp oval ELG w/star.Bag style grip. Botton pistol side hammer,oval ELG w/star,flatter style grip and 4 rifle groove barrel that only extends 1" past muzzle.Mics at.510 in groove and .445 on flats.

    Civil War shotgun?

    Have yet to see any of these bring over $200 at local auctions.Looked at one in a true 12ga at a gun show.Guy wanted $250.I offered $150.Lowest he would do was $170.I walked away as I already had 4.

    What is a good pattern with a ML shotgun

    I like 25yds. but here is the only pics I have of patterns.I was setting up a OLD 17ga fowler with no chokes and #6 shot.Left is 20yds and right is 15yds.

    Good you don't work where I do.We have barrels of these perfectly round rubber balls (about .22)called "space balls".I have been toying around about trying them out of one of the doubles or fowler just on paper and not game. :hmm:

    Irish shot spout spring

    .32 versus .36

    I have both and neither is a problem shooting.The 32 is best suited for squirrel,rabbit,etc.The 36 is a bit more than needed for small game and more suited for turkey,yote,fox,etc.

    I would let the seller know. I don't think it's as bad as I have seen some.Good scrubbing with 0000 steel wool and oil.

    GREAT PICS! :thumbsup: Would be great to see the pics of a fowler/shotgun and what wads and cards do to shot patterns.
