My new (to me) TVM southern Flinter

Iowa, you have a deal! As soon as I get tired of looking at it, it's yours! I mean, I wouldn't hold your breath though.

My new (to me) TVM southern Flinter

Wow.... Were you in the house when I took those pictures? Just after I took them, she wandered in and said almost that exact thing! LOL! I think it was something like "that thing better not leave anything on that afghan" It didn't.... And all is good...... :rotf:

My new (to me) TVM southern Flinter

thanks very much! I did some research on TVM a while back when I was going to order a new one. Plus I live about 2.5 hours from TVM so I paid them a visit. Very nice folks and they were eager to show me around. Small place they have. Its actually a small house. Each room is setup to do...

    My Flintlock Pedersoli

Very nice! Pedersoli makes some fine guns for sure! I have one of their shotguns.

Thanks all! I am very excited about it. I've got three other muzzleloaders, but none like this one.

My new (to me) TVM southern Flinter

I bought it used, but it hasn't been shot much at all. Absolutely the prettiest rifle I own. .36 caliber, 42" barrel and fancy maple stock. I know it has a siler lock, but I'm not sure what make the barrel is or the triggers. No matter.... its a keeper for sure. Haven't shot it yet. Probably...

advice needed CVA Mountain Rifle .54

Ok, my bad.... my Big Bore .58 doesn't say Spain. Its my Kentucky that says Spain. The big bore doesn't say where it was made though. Here are some photos of it.

advice needed CVA Mountain Rifle .54

I built my Big Bore .58 back in the early 80s from a kit. It came with a barrel marked from Spain. I finished it in hot brown. Still have the rifle and love it. I recently refinished the stock.... Came out great! If anyone wants to see photos of any part of it I can post them. That's one of...

    Can someone ID this lock?

I tried.... He clamed up. Personally I think he either knew what it was all along or doesn't want to believe it. No sweat..... There are others out there.

    Can someone ID this lock?

$799 and was being sold as a custom rifle which it isn't. The $1400 version has a fancy maple stock... this one has a walnut stock. Granted it has more brass than the walnut version that's being sold now, but Cabelas has them on sale right now for $549. This one needs a lot of cleanup.

    Can someone ID this lock?

Thanks very much for all the info! After checking the photos of the frontier, I can't agree more that it is what it is.... and yes, this was being sold as a "custom" rifle. It was on consignment. It does appear to have been re-browned at some point so I'm sure someone buffed the markings out...

    Swivel Breech Rifle

That is truly a beautiful rifle! Looks like it should be in a museum!

    Can someone ID this lock?

Thanks for the reply! The rifle itself isn't a pedersoli, but I suppose could have been put together by pieces parts.... Here are a couple more of the rifle itself.

    Can someone ID this lock?

I'm looking at a rifle for sale. The seller doesn't know much about it and there are no marks of any kind on it to say who made it. I've been trying to ID the lock myself but am coming up with nothing. The strange thing to me is the screw forward of the frizzen spring. There is one...

opinions on the blue ridge rifle

Alden thanks for the tip. Lucky for me there is a Cabelas within an hours drive. I'm not sure they have these in stock though. I'll call first. The Pennsylvania is a bit more fancy plus a little longer barrel and the patch box. I've got three CVA rifles that I put together in the early 80's...

opinions on the blue ridge rifle

I see my post with the link to Cabelas has been deleted... I'm guessing it was because of the link to something for sale? Anyway.. sorry about that. I've been trying to decide between the Blue Ridge and the Pennsylvania. Both very nice rifles!

Thanks much for the welcome! Shooey, I don't have much in the way of cents.... or sense for that matter. Just ask my wife.

    Hello from South Louisiana!

Hello all, The short story is I'm dusting off my front loaders after them sitting in the safe for many years. Back in the very early 80's I built three CVA kits. Big Bore Mountain .58, Squirrel rifle .32, Kentucky flintlock .45. I'm actually in the process of refinishing the...
