Update...... Just talked to Traditions. They are sending a UPS label and they are going to replace the rifle.

I have a question about the Pedersoli Hawkins variants. I see they offer a Missouri River, Rocky Mtn., Target, and a Hunter. The last two being about the half price as the first two. What's the difference? Besides the calibers the are offered.

Just an update..... There is no new news! Call CS, and was told to email a pictures of the gun and cracks. Haven't heard back from them. Kind of wish they would speed things along. Was wanting to hunt with it this year. That's defining not going to happen this year. Looks like I shopping...

Found another crack. I didn't see it on the opposite side of the lock plate. It's coming from the rear lock plate screw and it's very fine. Contacted customer service, now waiting for them to responded back. I'm guess I'm out of the black powder hobby for a few months.

Yeah, we'll see in the morning. At least I'll be at work when I call, so I'll be getting paid to be on the phone.

It's a 50 cal. .490 ball with .15 patches. I didn't even notice the crack until after I got home. Gun rode in the floor board of the backseat area of my truck, in a padded case.

Did everything correctly. No excessive force on RR. Rifle was straight up and down when loading. I also did it slowly to make sure I didn't mess up.

I just got the chance to shoot my new rifle. Fired 4 shots, 45 gr to 60 gr.. Now I have a broken gun. Big ole crack! Calling Traditions on Monday.

I"m new here and to muzzleloading. Been a gun guy all my life. Always wanted a black powder gun just never purchased one, until a few weeks ago. Maybe time to sell a few modern guns to finance another blackpowder gun!
