Yeah, just woods nature. A flaw that could not be detected Stress when the tree was growing or when cut down. I am sure they will replace it.
 
Just an update..... There is no new news! Call CS, and was told to email a pictures of the gun and cracks. Haven't heard back from them. Kind of wish they would speed things along. Was wanting to hunt with it this year. That's defining not going to happen this year. Looks like I shopping for a new BP rifle.

I saw another post somewhere else about a Kentucky kit, that's got stock issues. The back of the barrel is not resting where it should. The poster mentioned that if he shot it, the stock would split. He's waiting for Traditions CS also.
 
Well, after several months, I have my rifle back from Traditions. They replaced the rear stock piece. The finish is a close match to the front stock. Opened the box, looked it over, and put it back in the box. Think I'll just keep using the Hawken.
